German Shepherds are very smart dogs, but to be honest with you they are not house dogs all the time, they have to have a purpose or a job, Max turn 2 years old last month and I have had the usually puppy problems but I sent Max to doggy boot camp where he was trained in obedience and protection. I don't trust Max to be left alone while I am gone, so he has a big kennel that is 10x10 open the kind you get at lowes, home depot, etc. I feel for you and your GSD, but if I read this correctly you have had her 6 years and she was 1 or 2 when you got her, so she probably only has a few good years left, hope you can find her a home:( |

I was coming home one day and she ran right out in front of me:eek:  |
The majority of rescue's have a return clause. Have you contacted the rescue. I'm sure if you really can't deal with her, they would be more than happy to take her back and find her a more appropriate home. |

Yes, you read correct. They werent sure of her age, they guessed 1 to 2 and the vet agreed:confused: My last GSD was shutzland trained and she was amazing... It took me a while to even be able to look at a German Shepherd again:( I had gone to petsmart and they had the rescue dogs out front and she would not leave me alone, and she would not let ANYONE else touch her. I took that as a sign that it was time for me to get another dog:( I feel so guilty that I have failed her:( |
wow... that's some powerful dog.. kinda scary. i have an idea....Dog whisperer CESAR MILAN! |

How much exercise does she get a day? Does she have a "job", or an activity that she gets to do to release pent up anxiety, stress, and energy? It sounds like she's very bored and doesn't have much guidance. Have you looked into local behaviorists/trainers who work with these kinds of behavioral problems? Those are all the places I would start to help her with these behaviors. |
God bless you for putting up with her so long. I don't know what to suggest other than an exorcism. Wow..holy shoes that is why the previous owners got rid of her. Maybe some obedience training might be in order? |
I don't know what to say. Wow! That is some kind of dog! Good Luck and I know you will do the right thing!:animal-pa |

Yes I think a behaviorist would be wonderful if you can find one because they will really work with you step by step to change the actions that she is doing that aren't acceptable (or safe) for your household. I wish you the best of luck with everything, I'm sure it's a challenge. |
