This is so sick, I almost can't post it. I'm actually nauseous.

I heard about this on the radio 2 days ago, and it's taken me this long to brace myself and go find it on the internet. This man in Nicaragua brought a starving dog in - off of the streets, into an art gallery, chained it up, without access to food or water - and people could come by and watch it starve to death. They came, they watched, it died.

Seriously, it's times like these when I almost wish I knew a professional assassin who occasionally performed pro-bono work....bc I want this artist off the planet I inhabit.

I was telling my hubby the other night - that after I heard about this story - I was literally picturing myself getting on a plane (thinking "how could I hide my identity), hunting this man down, and *ending his life* - seriously. Is that scary? Maybe. But it affected me that much - to the point where I saw myself literally saying to him "THIS is for the life of that lovely creature - you can't be here ANYmore. You're done here." Wow.

SICK-O!! I don't "get" that kind of art. I thought horse dung on the Virgin Mary Statue was bad enough, but that takes the cake.

it makes me really mad.. and sad.. and it's disturbing..

EXACTLY! Had I been there, seen this - my adrenaline would have given me the power of an army - and there would not have been a soul who could have stopped me from breaking in there and cutting that poor creature free, even if it was just to turn around and bring it to a vet to put him to sleep (if it's health was to late to save, that is). NO ONE could have stopped me.

I too cannot wrap my mind around how NO ONE stepped in and stopped this "live" cruelty.

And, while someone may argue "well, but *that* was the *art* of it" - that "no one" steps in all the time, all around us. IF anyone wants to say that, I'll answer right now: I'll step in anytime, anywhere - show me, I'll do it; I don't need "starving animal art" to show me the way, nor do I think most humans with a brain do either.

I saw this months ago on a myspace bulletin.. I couldn't believe it. What I really had a hard time with is the fact that people day in and day out walked by and around this dog, KNOWING it was starving to death. :mad:

The things that go on in other countries.. like this and the fur trade in China.. are incomprehensible to me.

Awareness is the key.. As hard as it is to watch.. You must to get MAD enough to make a change or at least to try.. spread the word.

I wonder if they would have taken an orphan child, tied him/her up and let them starve if it would have still be considered "art".

Those that went to watch and did nothing are just as guilty as the one that did it. Just goes to show how sadistic some people are! :mad:

How could people watch that? Those are probably the same people you find at dog fights:rolleyes:

Some people are so sick, I think they need to be chained up, putting food and water out for them where they can't reach it (like 2ft away) and put them in a display window so people can try to watch them starve while they try to get their food!

When I think I have seen or heard it all...something completely out of Hell's Kitchen comes crawling to the surface. This has really thrown me.
How can anybody be so completely disassociated with feeling anything for an animal that they believe this is ok?

I shouldnt have looked at this, I knew not to... but I did anyways... Im disgusted and horrified. Wylie's mom you said it good when you said "I want this artist off the planet I inhabit" I sooooooo AGREE! What a disgusting person and that is no form of Art that ANYONE would want to see or own :( :(

No animal should be forced to suffer this way. I had completely forced this out of my mind after originally reading about it and signing the petition months ago and seeing it again evokes the amount of pain and completely sadness and disappointment I have for some people in the human race...this, among many other reasons, are why I could never kill an animal for food, clothes...or ART?!??!
Ugh...I am just sick!
