I still have tears in my eyes as I write this. I can't believe what I'm seeing. How is it that someone can do this, AND how is it that there is a society that ENABLES someone to do this. If I was in the area and learned about this exhibit, I would have broken in to the building and "stolen" the dog to try to nurse it back to health. I know some of you were posting about your capability to "murder" this man....but I truly believe that God sorts out these things in a better way than we ever can...without tarnishing our own reputation with The Big Guy. GRRR. Next time I see a rainbow, I'll wave at that poor dog and hope that there is a deserving person who never had the opportunity to love a dog who will accompany him over the bridge some day. |
How incredibly sick this horrible act of inhumanity was! I am so sickened by this saddening "exhibit"! |
I felt physically ill looking at this! This just confirms my thought that dogs are better than most humans!! Seeing that dog just made my heart ache and made me physically ill! My husband was so mad and said he didn't even want to see the dog, I just told him the story and he felt sick! I wish they would tie this guy up to a post and let him starve in the street! |
so sick ...so sad... I cant even go there. Signed the petition. RIP sweet dog. so very sorry. Things will be better over rainbow bridge. |
I'm having a hard time believing this. Snopes.com says its undertermined but I think its false. I have read a couple different stories on the subject and each one is a little different. Multiple countries are mentioned and his reasoning for doing it is different in each story. (Like completely different) Seems to me this is an urban legend someone made up. I hope to god I'm right here. |
Some people are so so sick! |
Sick! |
if it is true, they are really trying to cover their a***s by saying the dog escaped in the middle of the night.. |
What Evil people..if they can do that to a sweet dog..what would they do to a human?? <<thinking>> I've always wanted to go to Costa Rica <<packing up gun>> Lets go... |
This evil monster who found the dog is not the only jerk here. The people who walked past that dog and saw it are not innocent either. Every single one of them (the people involved with this) are barbaric idiots if they couldn't find this to be wrong. I could kill people when they do things like this. Honestly. |

PATHETIC:eek: |
I will go too that is sick, poor baby, I would like to tie them up |
He ain't got to work pro-bono...we would chip in. How can people like this sleep at night. Such a dirt bag. There are very special places in hell for people like this. |
OK just when I think I am getting older and more mellow with age I read something like this and want to kill the artist in the worst possible way you could imagine. I think any country that allows animals to be tortured for ART needs to be blown off the face of the earth. Very few humans are as good as dogs.......... Wow so much for mellowing with age........ |

Dog Tortured For "Art" |
this is so sad...people are so horrible, the artist as much as the on lookers... but i have a question... if this happened in nicaragua, why is the petition going to costa rica?? whoops, i found out...bc the artist was costa rican, sorry! |
I read this last week when Ann first posted it and I have to say it stayed with me over the weekend. I've seen a lot that upsets me terribly but this one is truly haunting... |

Or a human being:mad: He's just plain demented. |
Not that I agree with his techniques, but I thought you might be interested in the "artists" view. Says the artist: Hello everyone. My name is Guillermo Vargas Habacuc. I am 50 years old and an artist. Recently, I have been criticized for my work titled "Eres lo que lees", which features a dog named Nativity. The purpose of the work was not to cause any type of infliction on the poor, innocent creature, but rather to illustrate a point. In my home city of San Jose, Costa Rica, tens of thousands of stray dogs starve and die of illness each year in the streets and no one pays them a second thought. Now, if you publicly display one of these starving creatures, such as the case with Nativity, it creates a backlash that brings out a big of hypocrisy in all of us. Nativity was a very sick creature and would have died in the streets anyway. I'm just saying the reason he did this was to bring attention to the problem. I just heard about this, He's a sick man. Someone should really tie him up and starve him as a form of art. It's true the dogs out there starve but him taking one and tying it up in front of ppl, instead of feeding it doesn't make it right:thumbdown |
