I never knew what it was either, but when we were kids we always called it "tappy toad egg" pudding. Never stopped me from eating it!! LOL

Oh man, I love tapioca drinks.

There are boba drinks (or some people call bubble tea). I think that's what vainchick meant by "bolba". They are delicious. They come all sorts of flavors.. pretty much any flavor/fruit that you can think of, they'll probably have the drink. Strawberry, green apple, cherry, watermelon, Pina Colada, coffee/cappacino, Stawberries and Creme, Peaches and Creme.. and the list goes on! There is a place here called fatStraws (http://www.fatstraws.net/) and it tells you a little more about boba drinks.

A lot of places sell different types too, such as regular drinks or you can make it a slushy. My favorite is the coffee slushy with boba. It's soo good. The tapioca on the bottom is real chewy and just the right amout of sweetness. Yumm..

I'm craving some now! lol

OOh man it's soooooooooooooooo darn good. My favorite is the black milk tea flavor and the honeydew melon freeze. I want one now. Anyone who hasn't tried this...YOU ARE SO MISSING OUT! Vilette you crack me up. I just imagine you toting Chanel and Cheri on each arm, saying "quiet girls! momma needs to find some balboa."...

I love tapioca pearls too! That's so big in California. I can get it anywhere there eheheheh

The tapioca pearls has a lot of carbs, but is also pretty high in calories.

Coupled w/ the sugar syrups in a "boba" drink...you easily get a very carby and high caloric drink. Similar to that of Starbucks frappucinos.

It is good to have one or two on occasion, but not often. (Although they are quite addicting)

Tapioca is my favorite puddings of all time. The bumps kinda just give my tongue something to play around with while I eat it, LOL....

Love the stuff!!! My husband makes it for me when Im feeling ill as it is comfort food for me.

LUV tapioca pudding,,, I always had the store bought kind,, then someone made it homemade,and the tapiocas were SO BIG, I was kinda frightened!

.... But not frightened enough NOT to eat it! YUMMY!!!

DomLee it is SOOO against the law to talk about calories for something so delicious..haha..it ONLY has 2 calories ok???? I would like to keep that thought in my head as I squish the balls from my drink..REMEMBER FOLKS, ONLY 2 CALORIES!

My mother made peach tapioca pudding for us. About once every 5 years I try to make it and have never been able to get anything near it..then I think all the times my mother tried to get me to learn her recipes..which were all in her head and I wasn't interested...my loss.

I live in South Pasadena. There are at least 10 Boba shops that are within 5 minutes from me. And a number of them are open extremely late. How tempting!!!
