I am so happy for David C.! He did a great job this year and he has TRUE talent. As does David A. I loved them both equally and would have been happy no matter who won - so I can't complain It's not every year that I am totally in love with both finalists....but this year I was! Usually, it's easy for me to say who I want to win - but this year I was SO torn as I honestly did love them both...so I voted for each of them last night I know, I'm a cheater! Hehehe.

Congratulations to the winner - I know he will do well! And as for David A., I sure do hope to see him again in the future. I think we will

P.S. - Yes, the Guitar Hero commercial was awesome - what a HOOT! lol!! I can't believe they got him to do that....shy little David A.....!!

I've thought that too.

Winning is not always that important on AI. I think we'll hear from many of this year's top ten. I just hope David A's dad didn't go ballistic.

Now that the show is over, my thoughts are really with that sweet Luke Menard.

His uncle lives here - big CEO of a big corporation. I met him at a professional event when AI was still 24 contestants - he was so proud of his nephew - the first thing he said to me is Do you watch American Idol, my nephew is Luke!

Praying Luke beats this cancer quickly. 'Idol' Finalist Menard Battling Cancer - AOL News

I had really hoped he would have been in the top 12 - he was definitely better than Chekize and some others.

I hope that is true too. Who knows how much that has been said about David A's dad is true though. Praying David A can find his own place though without his father overshadowing him

Oh my goodness....this really does break my heart Man, I read it and was just immedaitely saddened He was such a sweet guy....I will be praying for him.

Luke is a member of the group, "Chapter 6" from my town. I don't know him, but I do know a guy that used to sing with him who is now in LA now starting his own career. They have a great little song "Ode to Krispy Kreme" and a funny 5-minute "Wizard of Oz Medley" on their myspace.

so no Amanda & someone else -- I just think it is strange they cut 2 out - would make more sense if just 6 or 8 went on tour.

I'm just bummed that they are coming nowhere near me this year - I would definitely go. I can drive 3 hrs to KC or 4 hrs to the twin Cities

My parents who are in their 60s are going to go see them in Florida - they really draw such a wide age range - that's what makes this a winning show. Plus the positive msg - no cussing, insulting, antics by the contestants

Only the Top 10 go on tour.

Great show tonight!!! I had to watch, I wanted to see all the performances!! Congrats to David Cook!! I did love David A's/One Republic performance, it was totally awesome. He'll be a star also!

Amanda was never my favorite. I do not know why they brought her back. (Contractual thingy I guess).

and yes, I agree, I loved seeing Michael Johns again. I really liked him. Hope he gets some label contract in the future.

Im sorry to tell you but you missed THE American Idol of all American Idols!! It was by far the most incredible show I have EVER seen. I really hope your computer has the capability of letting you watch it online tomorrow!! My Mom and I are already watching it again right now on our DVR!!! I wish I could record off that cuz Id send it to you!! AMAZING, amazing show and I cannot be more happy that the extremely talented and professional David Cook won.
