				   | well nothing in NYC is cheap... and if it is... it's sketchy... i have stayed at the econo lodge on 8th and 47th... there was blood on the sheets and the phone cord was cut out of the wall.. yikes... so last time we stayed at the hilton garden Inn on 8th and 48th i believe... it was beautiful.... a bit more expensive but when i'm on vacation i want a hotel to be somewhere i can retreat to after a long day.. and the garden inn was ideal.. right SMACK dab in the middle of everything |

				   | What is to dislike about the Plaza. It's like being in a dream .My hubby surprised me with a night's stay for my birthday..It was last year but I still talk about it to anyone who will listen .I felt like a Queen. The care and treatment was the best I've ever experienced.I slept like a baby in the most luxerious suite..Go to the Plaza even if it's for 1 night. It's well worth it. Fifth Ave & Central Park South New York City, NY 10021

We do a lot of travel to NYC and here are my choices for TS: W-NY-TS Marriott Marquis-TS Night Hotel QT (one of my favs) that's were I saw Cyndi Lauper one night in the bar

| Therapy Dog Donating Member | Oh one more thing - depending on what's going in in NYC at the time really dictates the pricing - right now rooms are going for $329 and up but I just called our travel dept. and the EconoLodge TS is $170.99. The Hampton TS is $329. The hotels I listed in the previous posts are either major chains or boutique hotels.

				   | I prefer the smaller hotels. The last place I stayed I LOVED and would totally stay there again. It was in a perfect location to walk to everything. It's like little apartments. http://www.buckinghamhotel.com/ YOUR HOTEL: Buckingham Hotel 101 W 57th St 57th St & 6th Ave New York, NY 10019 Hotel Phone: 212-246-1500

				   | We spent 3 nights at the Hilton Doubletree Guest Suites right AT Times Square...1568 Broadway, in April of 2006. What a great location!! And they have the BEST chocolate chips cookies in your room when you arrive!! We saw them filming a scene from the movie 'Enchanted' right across the street!! It was the part where the guy was sticking the sword into the top of the bus!

I used to live in Manhattan. My recommendation is that you stay nowhere near Times Square. It's touristy, crowded, kinda shady, and you will pay a lot more money for things around that area. You will also have a hell of a time finding cabs. I love the W hotels, the Union Square one and the Court in particular. If you know what you will be doing while you are there, and what you want to see, I can help you pick the perfect hotel in the perfect area.
