| I don't remember stamps going up till here lately. In a few years it's going to really start hurting the piggy bank if they keep this up. I think they should pass a law stating they can only raise it so much in such time. Once a year is crazy!

| WHAT???!!! I thought that they said there wouldn't be another increase for awhile...that was what...not even a year ago. The FOREVER stamp is still suppose to be around though, right? I thought the whole purpose of that was because if the stamps increased again, we wouldn't have to pay for it because of the forever stamps???!! CRAZY!!!! What is up with that?! I guess they are keeping up w/ everything else....since everything else we NEED keeps going up!!!

| The problem is gas prices keep going up. It is costing the US Postal service more to ship your mail because of gas prices. Same as everything else (food, utility, etc.). As long as gas prices keep increasing expect the cost of everything to keep increasing. I wish there was a way for them to keep gas prices from increasing Would make all of us happy |

| to me, stamps may as well be extinct..Doesn't everyone here mostly pay their bills online anymore? I thought my dh was the only one that still used stamps..I've been trying to get him to stop using them..I hate sending anything out through the mail, never know when(or if) it will even get to its destiny |

It does not show a price on it like the commemorative stamps do. Looks as if I should buy some more. I use USPS to send presents and cards. Also to keep in touch with people who ::GASP:: do not have a computer or Internet access.

| That is the FOREVER stamp and it is said to be able to be used no matter how high the cost of a stamp increases! I love sending things thru the mail...cards, packages, gifts, etc...and I still pay almost all of my bills thru the mail....

| Have you never had mail lost?? See, we have quite a few times..which ended up costing us more in the long run..also, hubbys get paid once a month, through the mail..You know how many times in 5 1/2 years he has had to go over to the office which is 1 1/2 hours away because his check never came?? 4 times...when you only get paid once a month, and you have to budget a month at a time, when the check doens't come on time, then that's a big worry.. |

For some reason...I just like the post office...I love getting things in the mail and I know my elderly friends and family love it too. There is just something about getting a little gift or card in the mail. I also like NOT doing any banking stuff online...I worry more about that can happen going that route than using the in person "slow" way. But that is just me!

| stamp collecting -- a dying hobby, thanks to USPS Quote:
I like getting cards and things in the mail. I do use the internet to pay bills, it is easier. And a lot of my bills are automatically paid by my bank, or charged directly to my credit card, which I pay online. The FOREVER Stamp will be good for whenever you use it, it will count as whatever the current postage is. You do not have to add additional postage. That was the incentive for people and businesses to buy up lots of it. But I still have 39¢ stamps left over and a bunch of 2¢ stamps so now I need 1¢ stamps unless I use them all up by May 12. And I foresee another raise of probably 1¢ in 2009, and so on. And I also love receiving postcards. I used to be a deltiologist and even went to post card conventions before we had the children. I used to be a philatelist before the cost of buying plate blocks and mint sheets became prohibitive. I like commemorative stamps, they teach you a lot of things and they are like miniature lithographs. Remember the stamps commemorating American Composers, Muppets, Elvis Presley, Teddy Bear (see below) Walt Disney series? The 50 state stamps, Tweety Bird and Sylvester? I liked seeing those. Sorry this is so long. I really was passionate about the cute little stamps.

| ooooooohhhhhh! I remember the Teddy Bear stamps, they were so cute. Were there ever any Yorkie stamps from the US? I would have gotten those to use.
