| Question re USPS.. I bought something from eBay and it is being shipped via Priority Mail. Track and Confirm says: Status: Arrival at Unit Your item arrived at 3:29 AM on February 1, 2008 in PHILADELPHIA, PA 19107. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later. What does "Arrival at Unit" mean? I hate dealing with USPS. They are a constant worry and problem. I really hope that doesn't mean it was supposedly delivered because obviously they aren't out delivering packages at 3:29 AM.

| It means nothing. I have found that USPS is totally unreliable, as is the confirmation process.

| I think maybe it just means it arrived at a post office there, probably from a truck, and that's why it's during the night. Just an idea.

| I think it means, it has arrived at your local post office. It will probaly say "delivered" when it gets to you. It is a pain that their info is so delayed - UPS and FED Ex can track packages to the minute, you would think the USPS could too.

| I know. You're right. They are SO bad... especially in the city. Our mailman (who changes about once a month) is SO unreliable. I try to avoid them unless it's absolutely necessary.

I called USPS (right after posting the thread cause I was so freaked out) and they said that it's at the post office and they'll get it out "in a day or two."

| The "UNIT" is the postal station ... the next report should be that it is delivered to you. Good Luck! I have been having problems with both UPS and USPS. My mailman leaves me a pink notice on Jan. 24th, I sign it and leave it outside the next day, but he does not deliver the package for a week. I just got it yesterday. One day he complained to my daughter that I get too much mail. (Isn't that his JOB? To deliver the mail?) Seems as if people do not want to do their job description (or if they do, they like to complain about it)

Once or twice my mailman has left the notice (for an "attempted delivery" of a package) when I have been home- meaning he didn't even attempt ringing the doorbell and probably didn't even have the package! ETA: And complaining to USPS does NOTHING. I've done that several times.

Complaining does no good. And I bet your guy worked in Philadelphia and got bounced here to NY. Or visa versa. maddening!!! or even more likely (J/K) does a double shift. (here in NY and also in Philadelphia) On occasion, I have seen my guy sitting in the truck chatting on his phone or even with another postal worker.

| Sorry Kyle, just read the rest of the post..sounds like it's at your p.o. you'll most likely get it tomorrow or Monday..they usually have so many days to get them to you..What I hate is when it's shipped UPS, but, then goes to usps..then they can hold it at the p.o for quite a few days..very aggrivating.. |

No wonder our mail is late, he is driving back and forth from Philadelphia to Long Island, NY daily. Sucking on a cigarette and chatting it up on the celly. Hahahahahaha! (had to copy your laffing smiley. It is so appropriate!)

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Could be I'm biased in my opinion as the mom of a young, rural postal carrier that is very reliable, conscientious, polite and routinely goes above and beyond. I think as with any company you will have good and bad employees and unfortunately it sounds as if some of you have the latter. Overall, given the volume of mail and the relatively inexpensive cost of our postal service I think they do a remarkable job. I have honestly never had anything lost, unreasonably delayed, nor damaged by our postal service. I wish you all could have a carrier like my son or the one that delivers to our home, he is also one of the best! I do agree their tracking system could be improved and hopefully will be.
