| again!!! i was watching a yorkie getting groomed at petsmart yesterday. and AGAIN, i saw a big dog fall off the grooming table. This happened a couple of months ago...i think i posted about it then. I understand accidents happen...but this is the 2nd time i have seen this at this petsmart in a fairly short period of time. and it is not very often that i watch the grooming. i'm usually shopping. they really need to be securing those dogs better!! it just makes me so sad!!

| It makes no sense since the tables can adjust to lower levels for grooming larger dogs.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | That is just rediculous. I wonder if they even bother to disclose the accident to the dogs owner. Amazing how stupid they seem to be there. God only knows how badly someone's dog is going to get hurt.

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Someone needs to report this. PM me the store, and I'll call the manager that "someone" has witnessed neglect in the pet grooming area. If they realize that people are talking about it and the news travels, maybe precautions will be taken and changes made.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Poor doggie could have hung himself. God forbid it was one of our small ones that can suffer from a collapsing trachea. I definitely think seeing as you have witnessed this a second time you should make some noise...you might get the cold shoulder from the staff there in the fugture but it's worth it if they will change what they are doing there.

| Grrrrrrr. Suppose that was a small dog with a noose around its neck falling to its death... That makes me so mad. There is no way I would let Ellie get groomed in a place like that. If she ever had to I would be right there next to her and I wouldn't stay 10 feet away behind glass either. Please report it.

| oh Dear God. If it was one of our lil babies with their fragile tracheas it could have been fatal! Not happy about this at all!

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | OK Mandee, I just called and talked to the Store Manager. He was a very polite young man, even though I was shaking . I can be very diplomatic when I need to be . I started by saying I was calling from Va to alert him to something in his grooming dept he "might not be aware of". I told him he might want to look into his grooming dept, becaue I'd heard twice recently that dogs have fallen OFF THE TABLE in his store. I added that many pet owners wouldn't think of taking their pets to PetSmart, because of PetSmart's irresponsible grooming practices. I let him know that I was calling from VA about this, and word is travelling fast on the 'net ~ that PetSmart is getting quite a bad rep because of their grooming departments. So, there LOL He could have just been 'handling' me; but he seemed sincere when he said he would definitely look into it, and speak to the grooming dept head. He thanked me many times for taking time to alert him.
