I don't own any Louis Vuitton anything... Mostly because I rarely carry a purse (and when I do it's my ROXY one lol) but I've heard the following:

There's a very easy way to tell if a LV (anything) is fake. The right fork of the V and the upright of the L must be parallel to be authentic. I've heard that the fake ones can't do that because the design is trademarked or something. And usually the fake ones have an extra prong.

But don't take my word for it.

I own several LVs and I am currently on a wait list for the LV pet carrier. One big difference is the interior. REAL LVs have a leather interior. The fakes have this soft velvet type of interior. Plus, the REAL LVs straps turn dark brown. The fakes always stay this light pale brown.

That's not always true about the interrior. I have a 100% authentic LV from the LV store in Paris and the interrior is a red color, not leather, soft material.. I checked on the LV website and it's called "Raspberry alcantara lining". But that is only sometimes true because I have other LV's with leather interrior. Maybe only some bags have the "Raspberry alcantara lining"?!

I meant the BROWN standard LVs. They have new lines now. The white LVs and the black LVs and the cherry ones. Those are different and some are also leather. I have a white LV and a black LV but my favorite is the original brown LV.

oh okay... my black multicolor isn't leather interrior either. it's brown soft material. the monogram that i was talking about with the "Raspberry alcantara lining" is a BROWN one without the leather interrior. but my older monogram brown one IS leather inside. hehe i guess it just depends on when it was made.
