Someone just told me about this. I am out of the loop here :)

Ok...so I am aware that there may be some "non believers" on this forum and I have NO problem with that. to each his own :) But...for her to say this on national television...I just think she shot herself in the foot here. Just NOT cool. IMO

That is old. Her comedy is alot of sarcasm, you either get it or don't.

if you watch this:

you see that after the show, she was interviewed and asked if she wanted to take any of what she said back. she said "no, I hope I offended people".

that's just wrong. I just can't see how people can be that way.

In reality you can't really "take it back" since it's all ready said and done. Again its part of her comedy to get a rise out of people. If you are going to be apologetic about something you say, you shouldn't be saying in the first place.

I saw that when it happened and felt an immediate disrespect for her.
I always enjoyed her comedy but to be honest she has turned me off!
Without Jesus and fans she is nothing!

Yeah, I know this is old news :( I just now heard about it tho. I don't watch a lot of tv so never heard about it :)

that's how I feel. if it weren't for her fans, she wouldn't be where she is. She can't take all the credit. There are some very talented people out there...she is just one of many. and it is her fans that have taken her to the level she is at. Everyone has their own views on Jesus...but IMO..she would be nothing without Him. She was BLESSED with talent...she didn't earn it. she didn't create it herself. that is something that is pre-determined. If I had talents like some of these celebrities, you better believe God would be getting all the praise for it. To out and out curse Jesus like she did is just rude, disrespectful, and wrong. And I have to say, I'm sure she lost some "fans" with that comment. I know I won't be supporting her.

I agree. I don't think she is one bit funny. Not when she makes remarks like that. There are more deserving people out there than her.

i will stand up for what i believe along with you ! this film video comedian whatever is totally disrespected by me and i pray she humbles herself one day ... if she doesnt she will wish she did ! this is my opinion and i am not a debater and I will not discuss this forward!

It kinda reminds me of the actress (can't remember her name right now) several years ago who was against our military and verbally bashing them...publicly displaying her distaste and disrespect for our military men and women...I can respect that everyone has their opinions and feelings...and that is fine. but why would you risk your career...everything you have accomplished..by saying such profound, highly controversial things. I just don't see how these people can be like that. It's not like they said these things on a whim. they thought about it, thought about it, planned it, and executed it. I just have to wonder what they are thinking.,...

I think its funny that its going to be cut out of the show but its being played anyhow on the news...I for one dont find it offensive...I am not an athiest but I am agnostic. I do believe she meant it as sarcasm like the fella on the right said..."people thank jesus for winning the superbowl like God is on their team" I have heard worse things being spoken by comedians that never get looked at twice..

As for saying without jesus she wouldnt have what she has...thats your beliefs..but if you dont believe in god or are atheist then that wouldnt be your belief..I think they said that Kathy is atheist..so that wouldnt be her belief..

I agree with you. and as I said..to each his own beliefs. I have no problem with people who don't believe what I believe. I have friends that are jewish, Jehova's witness, mormon,....I am comfortable in my religion just as they are in theirs. I think it is great when people find what they truly believe. I just think what she did was rude and disrespectful. I would say the same thing about people who were saying that about any religion.

Well, I'm not a bit surprised nor shocked by her. I lost any interest in what she had to say a loooooooong time ago. I mean, please......anyone whose 'claim to fame' is My Life on the D List? :rolleyes: Like so many other so-called comedians, she turned to shock, instead of working on talent. She's just crass. Of course, this is JMO :p :p

Im not going to lie... I LOVE KATHY GRIFFIN. I honestly chuckled at this when I saw it a few weeks back. I am an avid believer... and her jokes are mainly sarcastic.. she'll do anything to get attention!! She makes hilarious jokes about her very believing catholic mother that are side-splitting. Anyway, don't take her seriously.. she's a goober.

I guess you REALLY have to love her to stick by her. I don't and believe

I saw this awhile back too and I lost any respect I might have had for her. What she said is just wrong! It makes me sick to even look at her now. I never really liked her as a comedian anyway and now I don't really like her as a person either.

ANYONE who would disrespect God (or anyone for that matter) to get attention is really asking for trouble....

She hasn't accomplished anything but making an idiot out of herself!! haha. That's the point I'm trying to make.. I laugh at her. It's hard to take someone like that seriously so I don't! :)

I totally agree with you. We all have to stand up for what we believe in. I have friends from different religions also,and we respect what the other believes in, but if we were to attack each other's belief's....that's crossing the line.

very good point. her comment doesnt personally offend me, but i can definitely see why it would offend others. i dont get offended by very much though. i figure that if someone needs to stoop to lows to try to get a laugh, they are a person i shouldnt waste my energy getting angry over. i just change the chanel and move on. lifes too short to be angry! shake your head, move on and keep smiling!! :D (again, JMO)

I have never really cared for her much ever, but this is terrible. How disrespectful!!! She may think twice when the end of time comes and she's left behind. I know not everyone is a believer, but its sad when you realize how many aren't. To each his own, but there's only one way into heaven, and I know I want to be there standing before him on that day.

That's her whole "thing"- to shock, offend, and bring attention to herself. Isn't that how a lot of comedians work?

She is so funny! I love her. :)

Sure her she can joke about whatever she likes to..it's America! But I sure hope she knows she's lost a large portion of her fans if she had any! :mad: :thumbdown

I never liked her sense of humor...her jokes...they're are plenty of other 'funny' comedians out there with respect for our country! I support them!

I dont find the ones who have to stoop to a level where they're degrading themselves or others-funny! :thumbdown
