I did not care for what she said.Being I have grown up a pastors daughter and 2 of my sisters husbands are pastors. You never know might come back to haunt her one day laying in bed dying wondering what side she will pass on to! |

I have never liked her. I just think she isn't funny. I think she is dorky and tacky. Just because she doesn't believe in God doesn't make it right for her to say this. I bet your bottom dollars that if I stood up on a stage and made a religious, gay, or racial nasty remark I would be on everyone's hate list. It works both ways. So if it's ok for her to speak her mind, well then I think it's for everyone else to as well. Look at Michael Richards and Mel Gibson. Not saying what they said was appropriate but you can't say what's okay for one isn't for another. People just really tick me off when I hear it's okay because she doesn't believe. Well that's her personal choice, but it is offensive to people that do. :mad: Sorry for the rant. |
Okay, I'm going to try to word this very carefully...I probably shouldn't even reply at all LOL but I think maybe she was being satyrical by pointing out the hypocrisy of all the celebrities that thank God/Jesus/whatever for winning an Emmy/Oscar/Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes when a) they are corrupt drug addicted hedonists or b) God/Jesus had nothing (directly) to do with them winning the award. I mean, does anybody really think that God cares if they won an Oscar? I think s/he/it has other things to worry about... Just my opinion, don't eat me alive LOL *slowly backs out of the thread...* PS. I forgot to mention, it is still tacky and offensive no doubt about it and you're right, if she had made that comment about another group it would not have gone over well at all, so I'm in no way defending her! |

Well I doubt it cost her any fans. People who find her funny (as I do) share her strange sense of humor I guess. People who were offended by her speech, would probably be offended by much of her comedy and therefore not be a fan of hers to begin with. |

Oh, I see who that is - Kathy Griffith (or is it Griffin? whatever....). I cannot stand the woman. Plus her voice is awful (sounds like she's puking when she speaks!) . I can only imagine what she's saying in that video, I can't stand her so much I don't want to even ruin my day by watching it. :eek: :thumbdown |

I don't like what she said and I find it horribly offensive, but we have a right to free speech in this country, and so she does have a right to say that. It doesnt make it a good thing to do, but she can do it. Everyone is entitled to their personal beliefs (or lack of beliefs, for that matter). She has as much right to say what she said, as everyone else who thanks Jesus does to thank Him. Just because a large percent of the population finds it offensive, it doesn't mean she can't say it. |
I was scared when she said that I never would but.... at judgment day only she will answer for what she did so I don't care and personally I think al the fakeness going on in this world with regards to black people and the way Bush if f###### up everything and all those scandals with the Cahtholic( loving) all those boys would be more useful to me to pay attention to than some flippant comment a COMEDIAN made. I saw that before. My opinion is that she started off with something that could have been found funny, even by us Christians. I've heard other comedians successfully dish on celebrities insincerely thanking God and Jesus (keep in mind, the "insincerely" remark is my editorial comment ;) ). But then I think she just simply took it TOOOO far for most of our sensibilities. Then it became uncool. |

I am sure she has turned off many of her admirers and I hope her career takes a dive. As far as God wanting us to love one another...he surely doesn't mean that we should choose to sit and watch her sick comedy. We are to turn away from that sort of thing and that's what I'm doing.
