| The ones that get knocked out of it are the ones that make over $100 and some thousand a year..The House proposal would phase out rebates for individuals earning more than $75,000 in taxable income and for married couples earning more than $150,000. The Senate proposal has no income caps. (Additional reporting by Richard Cowan, editing by David Wiessler) Last edited by hha; 01-29-2008 at 02:35 PM. |

| It's really funny the way they did our tax at grocery store last year, they lowered it from 5% to nothing on groceries, and raised it from 5%-6% for everything else..but, that was to bring our property taxes on our houses down..ours this last year went down to a little over $300 on a house that's valued around $200,000.. |

| They better give this to us cuz I started spending it since the day I found out about it. Haha, I guess their goal of trying to get consumers to spend is already working. |

| I can't wait! We don't have any children, but we will definately be filing jointly this year so we can get an extra $1200.

| They did the same thing several years ago as I recall. It was $300 and the "rebate" was considered taxable income for the year if memory serves correctly. Personally, it won't be a drop in the bucket for me. How about putting it all in a pool to lower gas prices, do something that would help the greatest number of people?
