| Wow, 23!! That's incredible. I can only hope to have that long with my 2. The longest I've had a dog was my Bichon almost 15 yrs old - she was basically killed though by a horrid kennel that I took her to 2 weekends in a row. They didn't give her enough water to drink and she went into kidney failure.

| Our last Yorkie, Trixie, lived to a couple of weeks off her 20th birthday.

| I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Awwww, your poor parents I can only imagine how hard it was for them to have to put her down after having her for 23 years...my goodness, that would just rip my heart out!I can honestly say though, that your parents dog is the longest living dog that I have ever heard about (except for the one that lived 29 years that you mentioned ) - WOW! That is just amazing. My husband came home yesterday and told me that his boss is probably going to be putting his Toy Poodle down (Nipsy) very soon....if he hasn't done so already I need to call and ask..Nipsy is so sweet but she is an older dog, I think about 16 years. His boss said that her body just seems to be shutting down and that she has a really bad smell coming from her body It is just so sad...
