| Send a message/card to Samantha: I wanted to tell everyone Samantha is in The Shepard Center in Atlanta beginning her 2 months of rehab. (injuried in car accident 7-3-05...) The doctors there are optomistic she will have good recovery of function since she is already beginning to have "random" movements in all extremeties. They all say she will likely be able to drive a car....even if it must be special adaptive for her....that was the best news for an 18 year old girl who LOVED driving her car!!! I think at that moment she was ready to check out a return home....! Her mom is staying in Atlanta with her....they have special accomadations for family nearby. As of Sunday PM (7-10-05) Samantha could: ***wiggle 4 fingers on her left hand ***had slight movement in right wrist ***could bear some weight on left leg/knee to lift her hips ***beginning to wiggle/move right foot They gave her an electric wheelchair...she must be strapped in with harness to keep her from falling over...thn they set it on low speed and let her go!!!!! By shifting her shoulder and upper arm she can "drive" and steer the thing.!! Anyone wanting to send her a card or message I have her address: S. Wolfe family Shepard Center: Rm 200-C 2020 Peachtree Rd. N.W. Atlanta, Ga 30309 post a message: carepages.com (samantha wolfe) ***this web page you will register..just like registering for YT....and follow instruction to post message and read replies..also, my brother will try to post an update daily so everyone can keep up with her progress. Thanks to everyone for all there prayers and concern......YT folks are the greatest and I truly appreciate all the encouragement!!! |
