| Moving to NC? Hey guys...well so of you know my husband and I are newly weds and still trying to figure out where were going to live and all that good stuff. Last night we were talking and kinda want to move out of state away from his parents (their quite annoying). So we picked NC! Why I don't know, but if he doesnt get into medical school I guess we might go there! Do any of you have any good cities/towns for us to look into? We want to be in the mountains, but I can't be too far from malls, restraunts, etc. |

| Well, I have lived in NC my entire life and love it here. I grew up in the Western NC which is in the mountains. We now live in Charlotte due to my DH's job. We love the mountains but the $$ was not in the mountains. (for the business that we own) If you want to be in the mountains but still close to shopping I would pick Asheville, NC. (just last week on 20/20 (I think it was 20/20 or might of been Dateline) it was determined that Asheville, NC was the happiest city in the US to live) My entire family still lives there and it is gorgeous!!! Check out this website: (a forum about different places to live in Western NC) http://www.city-data.com/forum/western-north-carolina/ Best of luck to you!!!

| I was looking at popular cities on the net and found that Ashville is pretty expensive especially renting or buying a home. It's also growing too rapidly which will soon be too crowded and the crime rate will go up as well. Just another beautiful city that should have kept silent about it's beauty. How about Moorsville, NC. It's not far from Charlotte and is so pretty with the rolling hills and all. |
