My Lil Man! Donating Member | Cool...I have thought about learning crochet but I figured I should prob stick with the knitting and learn it real good first before I take on something else. haha. Thanks for the site! Ill be sure to check it out! Right now my specialties are washrags...but my fiance found a pattern for a really cute sweater and told me I should try to make it that he thought it was pretty and he even bought me some pretty yarn to do it with and the size needles I need (he had to have had someone help him figure all this stuff out cause he knows nothing about knitting and doesnt care about it...just likes the stuff I make for him and likes to see what I can make) haha. He likes to see yarn and then see the completed project. Haha. I thought it was cute he went to the trouble to get that stuff even though I had to tell him it would be awhile before I could do it cause 3/4 the stuff on the pattern i have no clue how to do yet. Lol. |

| I knit in a very basic sense. As in, if I have the book reference open in front of me I can accomplish something. When I found out about the Sweater Curse my interest has waned so I think the only one I'd ever really knit for would be my dog! Good luck in your attempts! |

| I'm trying to teach myself to crochet. I have known how to do a chain since my mom taught me probably 25-30 years ago but nothing beyond that. Wish me luck! PS Good luck to you on your knitting! Last edited by tjdmom; 01-16-2008 at 03:18 PM. Reason: forgot |

| Knitting Hi Reeses Good for you! Stick with it, and you will be knitting sweaters in no time! I think I have probably knit every sweater my grandchildren ever wore, and every pattern, but they are now all in their teens, and their tastes have changed. I taught a lot of my friends to knit, and they called me so many times, they would ask if it was the "knitting crisis centre." ha ha It is very hard to explain on the phone, how to knit and purl and how to get out of a certain problem. My sister-in-law even called me from Georgia, hoping I could help, and sometimes, (not all the time, I was able to) I have moved on now, hardly ever knit, except the odd sweater for my fur babies. I am now into machine embroidering, which I just love, but if I can help you in any way, let me know. Good Luck Janice |

My Lil Man! Donating Member | tjdmom...Goodluck to you! Be sure and keep in touch on how it goes!! Janice...I appreciate so much you offering your help...I am very likely to be PMing you about some things! Lol. I just finished 2 camo washrags. One had a heart design in it and the one in the picture has a deer head in it. Its kinda hard to see in the picture but if you know what your lookin for you can see it. Lol. I am currently trying to attempt something called pocket book slippers...kinda looks like a shoe but its a sock. Lol. Its goin pretty good so far but im not sure how its suppose to become what its suppose to become. Lol. Maybe once I finsih it it will be easier to figure out. Lol. Ok so I did have a picture of the heart one before I gave it to my fiance so it is the second picture. I know they are kinda dark but the design seemed more visible without a flash. |

| Knitting Hi I just thought of something that might help. Whenever the pattern calls for a certain stitch, that is unfamiliar to you, they explain how to do it, usually in the back of the knitting book somewhere. Some of the Canadian and American terms are different, and I am not sure about a lot of them. By the way, your washcloths look fantastic. If you can do that, you are well on your way. Good luck Janice |
