YT 500 Club Member | determining... I have no idea how to decipher a fake purse from a real one. I keep buying the real purses (its a nasty habit lol) and my boyfriend has now put a limit on shopping blah on him lol. So I was thinking of purchases some knock offs, but will it be obvious???? Any pros out there? I mean if they look the same who cares if its real or fake, not me really. Plus I was thinking of getting some for my mom as well. Thanks in advance for the responses

| There are some people on here who do know fakes from real REALLY well! I think if you got some real ones, dont waste your money on fakes, just carry your real ones Unless you got a purse fetish (and I understand I have a shoe fetish haha and have a million pairs!). Just look for quality purses in not designer names, like 9west, they have some really nice purses. If you have a Marshalls or TJ Maxx around you they carry Coach, Dooney and Burke, and other high end names for a fraction of the price. Of course they are a bit harder to come by and are not the most stylish of the bunch Oh also I heard of this site, where you can trade pocketbooks from people for a certain amount of time, all kinds of designer bags and you just trade them for awhile!! maybe that will interest you and your mom! Id like to carry around a REAL louie vuitton for a day LOL

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | There are excellent knock offs out there. My girlfriend got a LV for xmas from her honey and she had gotten the knockoff since she hadn't known he got it for her....they put the two bags side by side and he couldn't tell her which was the one he got at bloomingdales and the one she got in China Town. She had him return the real LV. Hubby suprised me at xmas with the gucci horsebit hobo that I was dying for unfortunately or rather fortunately for him and me both I had found while out shopping the knockoff. I made him return the real one and for $50 I kept the knockoff. I used that money to buy my new baby Zoey. I think it was money better spent. I have a bag and jewlery fetish and normally I get the real ones but honestly as much as I have been wanting that bag I couldn't justify him spending it. Maybe spending like that on a piece of jewlery but not that much on the bag. The most I am willing to spend on a bag is $400.

My furkids Donating Member | My daughter is the QUEEN of designer!! LOL! My oldest daughter bought me a real coach purse this past summer. I do have some knock offs. The only difference that I can see is the real ones last A LOT longer than the knock offs. AND my Queen of designer purses(she's 24) says you can tell a real one for a knock off by the stitching. I guess the stitching is alot closer on the knock offs than the designer..

| Just carry the ones you already have! BTW some people care about that stuff but most people don't! Most people don't notice. I bought a Vera Bradley bag (I NEVER buy ANYTHING designer) and it took 3 days for one single person at work to notice. No one else even cares.

| I personally won't buy fake bags. They don't last as long, and even if no one noticed it was fake, I would know and I just wouldn't be comfortable with it. I don't respect the bootleg business You can usually buy designer bags at their outlet locations for between 20-50% off, or find decent deals on used designer bags on Ebay. Make sure to have them authenticated though! |
