| Spilled Soda on Laptop! We just spilled a whole glass of soda on my husbands laptop and now it wont turn on. we tried to clean it immediately but it looks like it was too late. Has this happened to anyone and is there anyway to fix this or is it toast?

| I spilled milk on my laptop keyboard once. I had to get a new one. However, my dad took it to one of his co-workers who fixed it and then called me a liar for spilling milk on it. He said he found no evidence and decided that I dropped it instead. Anyways..I still have my new one and now my mom uses my old one and it works just fine!

| I hate to tell you this but its most likely toast. I spilled coffee on my laptop once and it did the same thing and it ended up that the hardrive fried. We took it to a computer reconditioning store and they put in a generic harddrive

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Shana you most likely fried it. If I were you I would turn it upside down so any left over stuff will drip out of it. Let it dry nicely and then try it again. Oooh you can also turn he blow dryer on cool air and shoot it at it and let it help you dry things out fast. Good luck. I hope it drys out and works. Oh man...did it spark or smoke when it happened?

No Longer a Member | I spilled milk on my other notebook, and it went into the battery part. I took the battery out, unplugged it of course, and turned the notebook on its side (like an open book) and let it air out. It is fine now, but some of the keys stuck for a while. |
