| I hadn't seen that yet. I have competed in several Ironman triathlons and am friends with a lot of pro athletes, but I have to say, and I think many of the pros would agree with me, that the REAL heroes and the REALLY inspirational athletes are those Physcially Challenged men and women. Whenever I think I'm having a bad day training or feel like biking uphill is so hard, all I have to do is think about THEM and how much harder it is for them to do what I'm whining about . And they NEVER whine about it either. I also have a brother who is in a "Locked In" state who's been that way for 14 yrs now in a hospital bed (although they do get him up in a wheelchair when he's up to it) who can't talk, can't move any part of his body other than to move his eyes up and down to communicate. Can't scratch his nose (or anything else for that matter) if it itches...can't tell anyone that it does so they can either . Whenever I feel like my burden in life is too heavy, all I need to do is think about his~ it shakes me right out of any pity party I'm having and gets me out and moving....JUST BECAUSE I CAN! Treasure life; treasure health!
