| I Have Read This Book By Khaled Hosseini, As Well As His Next Book A Thousand Splendid Suns..which I Think Was Even Better!!!!! My Husband Was Born In Kabul Afghanistan. There Were So Many Stories In The Book That I Had Heard Before. While Some Appear Fictional, My Husband Is Sure He May Have Gone To School With The Author. So Many Of The Stories Are So Real...all They Way Down To The Bully Of The Book. My Husband Fought A Bully In School By The Same Description. There Werent Many White Skinned Folks In Kabul When He Was Growing Up Either. My Husband And I Were Going To See Kite Runner Yesterday But Had Promised To Take Our Daughter To The Beach...it Was Beautiful And Sunny So The Beach Won!!! I Am Hoping I Wont Be Disappointed In The Movie. I Have Heard So Many Things Were Cut From The Book...due To Time..but Have Heard It Is Still An Awesome Movie!! I Have To Admit It Was Fun Reading The Book And Knowing Most Of The Dari Words And Having Cooked Most Of The Same Foods. Afghans Are Such Wonderful People. They Are So Gracious And Caring. My Family Is The Most Giving, intelligent And Honorable People I Know. i Am Just Hoping That This Movie Reflects How Great Afghan People Are Since Most Americans Dont Know The Difference Between Afghans, Saudis, Muslims, Taliban Or Al Quida. I Do Hope Everyone Goes To See This Movie To Support Khaled. He Is Such An Incredible Story Teller Last edited by FL Tink; 01-07-2008 at 09:35 AM. |
