That's exactly what I was thinking. Anyone who calls a dog over with food then kicks him is up to no good. Poison is an easy way to get rid of an unwanted intruder. I hope you can come up with a solution that will keep Melvin safe and with people that love and care about him.

I know what you mean about strays. We have gotten a few lately at work and some of my coworkers are not happy about me and others there giving it food and water. The Human Shelter had to come and get one of them. We could not find anyone to take him and he had been there for 2-3 days. The other one we found a home for him. People don't understand that animals have feelings too.

If I'm not on YT I'm on hoosier topics. LOL I haven't posted about a pen there, I should though. You sound a lot like me. If I don't give them food maybe nobody else will. I'd feel terrible thinking it may of died from starvation.
