| CR2032 $5 battery - that's what the computer geek husband says you need. I had this problem once a LONG time ago and it was this little battery inside that keeps that data stored while the computer is powered down. (Things might have changed since then so double check first )

| I don't have my battery in it.. thats the thing. I leave it plugged into the wall all the time.. And also, it freezes up a lot and the only way to shut it off is by holding the power key on.... |

| No not the laptop battery - it's a small battery like the size of a watch or clock battery. The freezing up means it probably has stuff running in the background like adware or spyware. What system are you running? You can press control+alt+delete to see what is running and locking up.

| I hope you get it fixed soon! My parents have Vista and it has caused a lot of problems on their computer...they are wanting to install Windows XP, but don't want to hire someone to do it.....

| Kelsey, sorry you are having trouble!!!! I know how you feel....I have had my share of computer problems too!!! I was about to pull my hair out everyday!!! I recently bought a MAC and I don't miss all the issues I had with my old laptop and my old PC. Same thing with my hubby...he finally got fed up with his PC and went and bought a Mac last week. We are hoping that we will not have any problems with the Mac's. (at least not as many problems) I hope you get your problems resolved soon!!!
