not size 2 here. 16 usually. :) |
Oh goodness! I'm eating a cherry turnover right now...I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm 5'2, and I blame my extra weight on the freshman 15...or for me, the freshman 40! |

OK...I just got home from our Christmas party and after about 5 glasses of wine:eek: and reading this thread I probably can be honest here....I'm 5'6 and wear between a 6 and 8 jean....but I'm not in my 20's, or 30's or hmmm......40's..I have one kid who is 25 going on 26 and for me at my age...I am doing the happy dance that I'm in a 6 or 8...crap when I was in my 20's I was a pencil.. my friends and family still think I am thin, I'm not on any medication whatsoever and knock on wood I'm healthy...do pilates and yoga and rebound. I cheat on the weekends..and yes..pass the donuts please cause it's the weekend.:D |
from a newbie here, thank you for this thread!!! :) that other thread made me sad... :( ... i used to be a 00 (most of the time those were too big on me and i had to wear KIDS clothes at the age of 26) and realized how bad this was for me and how i needed to start loving the body i was blessed with and not worry about what hollywood, tv, movies, etc says is "attractive" :( ... i realize no one on that thread meant any harm by the comments, but i think everyone has their own insecurities to deal with and weight is a hot button for most women :p there is way too much emphasis (ESPECIALLY on young girls) about weight and being a certain size...i know it is sooo cliche' but everyone IS beautiful in their own way! you girls rock!!! :D  this was like sunshine on a cloudy day!! |
Welllll, I've always been overweight but I'm okay with it so I just try and overlook everyone else's opinions. I'm 5'1-5'2 and size 16/18 ;) It really wouldn't kill me to exercise and lose some of the weight but I'm lazy and I probably would if it bothered me a lot. |
2 maple bars for me please,oh what the heck,,,chocolate covered cake donut with nut sprinkles too!!!:p |
This thread is crazy-good!! I didn't even read the other one. I don't really get into conversations where people like to talk about how tall and thin they are. ;) I was never tall (almost 5'2"), but used to be thinner. I've gone from a 2 to ummmm..... not a 2 in just the last couple of years. Middle age has begun to hug me around my middle section. And what in the h*** is my skin tone doing lately?? I loved reading this thread today. You ladies are really funny! Doesn't anyone have a carrot stick for me? Just kidding. I like the yeast donuts, not the cake ones, please. |
psssh...size 2? What's that? ;) |

OK Ladies - Stay away from the depressed thoughts !! I didn't understand that thread and stayed out of it too - I didn't see anything about being 87 lbs....and not to be mean - but holy cow that's WAY too thin for ANY height cept 4 feet tall  we all have enough to deal these days with and don't need the added stress of weight issues.....so....don't let images of other women control your thoughts !!! We ALL have attributes that are special only to us and if you have someone who loves you for you - & YOU love you for you - that's all that matters. I had gained a few lbs the last 2 years and obsessed over it - I lost it after my husband died and got TOO thin and can say honestly - being really thin isn't always healthy looking :( In my mind - I didn't really think it was alot but a good friend told me I looked like a refuge...that's when knew I had to eat or I'd get sick. I learned my lesson and now am just counting the blessings in my life I DO have and quit worrying about every little pound. Whatever you're comfortable with is just what you should be  and the hell with the perceived image of women these days - there's just too much flaunted in our faces. No one can live up to those images. and besides - LOTS AND LOTS of what we see is ALTERED !! Besides all the plastic surgery - Lipo and Botox, the images we see are not REAL and hardly any magazines have pictures of women that aren't photoshopped. So if you look good - BE HAPPY WITH IT ! (and ps Jamie (yorkiecrazy)-my good friend - I DID gain back some weight so you can stop worrying !!) :D |
hahaha - sorry - didn't know I wrote a small NOVEL - and lecture is now over. I really wanted to say - most women I know that are a little on the larger side are AWESOME women. Whether it's beautiful skin - eyes - personality - doesn't matter - each has their own beauty and it's up to them to see it in their ownselves |
oh and ps - APPLE FRITTERS FOR ME from Dunkin Doughnuts - ok - shipleys is good too :D - you all made me really hungry |

AMEN! LOL....... was not a Novel, Vi....... it was great!!! Sometimes I look at the way some of the younger gals look at eachother nowadays..... it is so sad! ( I even have a friend in her mid 40's who is ALWAYS talking about being heavy and don't like being in a size 7  ) Some are always comparing themselves to eachother and.... OMG if they go from a size 0 to a size 2!!  I would LOVE to be a size 7...... but that is OK.. I LOVE being ME!!! Come on PEOPLE....... there is much more to life than being a stick!! It is called Happiness, friendship (based on LOVE.. not how skinny they are). Faith,.......... I could go on.... but I don't want to write a novel ( :p Vi :p ) ....... I think I will start a new thread....... Look for it!! |
