| Writers Strike! Literally EVERY show that I watch is off the air now Greys - done private practice - done Desperate housewives - done Bones - done house - done I have not turned on the tv at all since last thursday night for the last greys! Whats the point?? HAHA What is everyone else doing now that all the shows are done? I need some time filling ideas! tonight IM going to do laundry & dye my hair... but thats mainly cuz I'll be snowed in once I get home! We are having a blizzard! Im at work for another 3 hours and the snow is coming down at more than an inch an hour now! Should be a FUN ride home!!!! Normally its like 45mins to an hour, but today could take 2 - 2.5 hours to get home!

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | awww I'm sorry. Its scary because the producers can last a long time over in Hollywood. They have a LOT of money that they can hold their shows up with. I really don't watch TV, so I don't have any suggestions. the computer is always a good thing to hold up with. I hope its over soon! PS - be safe in the weather!

| I am catching the repeats of shows I normally did not watch, so they are new to me ... Rent videos, or watch HBO .... Or even better, read a book (it is bound to be a movie soon anyway)

| Why don't they just pay the writers more??? Honestly, writers ought to be making good money..they are the ones actually writing it..without them there wouldn't be a successful show! These shows make SOOO much money..why can't they just freakin' pay the writers?!? I miss my shows too

| True----but the job can disappear as quickly as it came. The entertainment industry is a catch as catch can industry. Something I know all too well unfortunately. |

| I agree; it sucks! I play mahjongg on the computer or I dvr stuff that I often don't get around to watching like Ellen or Oprah or Jeopardy, Deal or No Deal...just so that when I DO feel like watching something at least I have something to watch! I also check out to see if there's any movies on that I might want to watch (hey, sometimes you'll watch ANYTHING, LOL) later too and tape those. I'll be glad when they settle this strike and I really hope they do before Christmas; I hate all the writers and actors being jobless at this time of year!

No they're not making minimum wage, but I don't think that's really the point; it's all relative and nobody wants to feel taken advantage of. Which is kind of what's happening.

Are they asking for more money in the way of salary? I think they want more from the royalties (like the repeats and the DVD sales)... and they do deserve to get a bigger percentage of the DVD sales and repeats since they create the great episodes we love to watch ....

| They also don't get health insurance, pensions or a guarantee that the show they are working on won't be cancelled at any moment. |
