She's a real cutie:) I'm glad that she'll be staying with you, she deserves as much love as possible after her rough start. The new pics you can tell that she is opening up and trusting you:thumbup:  I hope her check up reveals no problems:hands: |
how in the HECK have I missed this thread??? OMG she is soooo cute!!!! I am so happy you are going to keep her (hopefully all goes as well as planned) and she seems like she is getting very acquainted . that is awesome!!! you are so wonderful!!!!!!! can't wait to watch her grow!! she is adorable. |
Awww look at the pretty muffinbutt!! Good luck today, I am not sure about the shots though! Can't wait to here how she is!! |
Good news! Other than being malnurished, the vet didn't find anything wrong with her. He looked at her poo poo under the microscope and it was clean. Her gums and teeth look good. I told him about her eye and that I was washing it out with sterile water and he said I could keep doing that for a couple more days and it should be fine. He said if it wasn't I could bring her back and he'd give me an antibiotic to go in it, but he really thinks she just got something in it and maybe it scratched the lens. Her ears looked good, her lungs sounded clear. Her skin was clear. No mange or fleas or anything yucky. No shots today. We are going to wait until after the first of the year to do that. So she won't be going on anymore car rides for a while. She'll have to stay home. She weighs a whopping 13 oz! I was really hoping she'd be at least a pound. He said another few days with good food in her belly and she'll gain those 3 ounces in no time. When they checked her temp she growled and barked at them. He just laughed and told her to save it and that he wasn't scared because he'd seen fleas bigger than her. lol So she is healthy and I can start introducing her to the other furbutts. I am letting her sleep now and recover from her little adventure. Oh, when I went to pay, they only charged me $20 instead of the $40 they told me on the phone. :D |
Aerrica that's wonderful news. I am so happy for both of you. She is so tiny and adorable. She already loves you to pieces you can see by the way she looks at you. The vet was so nice to only charge you $20.00. He sounds very special as well. It warms the heart to read stories like this. If only more unwanted animals could find their speical families. Bless you and your hubby for keeping her. |
:yay_jump: YAY!!! I am so glad to hear all the good news! We have been thinking about here since we first read the post. I bet she is so happy and glad that you took her in. Bless you and your husband you are wonderful people!! |
She really does love me and I can't tell ya'll how much that means to me. I mean, I feel special anytime a dog really likes me (I think they are excellent judges of character). So to have her come from the kind of background she did and for HER to love and trust me as much as she does already, I feel extra extra special. :D It is so cute because when someone other than me talks to her she will climb up on my chest and sit and just look at them. Even if I'm standing up and holding her, she will still scoot up my chest and turn around and just look. After she has her shots I'll start taking her places and working on socialization. For now though I want to get some weight on her and work on her trusting the people and other animals here at home. |
YAY! SHe's a healthy little peanut! I was hoping and praying that would be the case! Keep those pictures coming! When are you going to introduce her to your other babies? |

Dogs who pee in their own bed and lay in it have definitely NOT been treated well. The pups were clearly given no opportunity to be taught how to be clean (there were probably no clean areas available to them). The fear in her eyes just slays me, chills me to my core. This poor little angel does not deserve to have this look in her eyes. Bless you for taking her in, you too are an angel. I want to write more, but I just can't - this is so upsetting, I want to hunt down whomever caused her this fear! |

I was just able to read this post and I must say that you are such a wonderful and caring person and Izzy-Belle is so lucky that you came into her life and I am so happy to hear that you will be keeping her in your safe and loving home. The lady that had these poor malnourished dogs is disgusting and should be fined! I wish your family the best of luck with your new addition, little Izzy-Belle! God Bless You and your beautiful heart! |
