Another baby 2 Attachment(s) I had to go to Wal-Mart today. There was some woman standing in the parking lot with a sign and the back of her SUV up -"Free chihuahua puppies". Who DOES that?   Anyway, I stopped to look and OMG. They were so skinny and sad looking. :( I didn't know what to do. So I did this.... One little girl just broke my heart so I took her. I snuck her into the store to Customer Service and the manager. I showed him the baby girl and he asked if they all looked like that. I nodded. He called the police and a friend of his who happens to work with the humane society. I am keeping her separated from Susanah and my chis. She probably hasn't had a single shot. :( Ya'll she is soooo very tiny. The lady said they were 14 weeks old, but omg she is just so LITTLE. I bet she doesn't weigh a pound. There is no way. I am not sure if I can keep her. I don't know if I can afford vet bills on another furkid. I can definitely feed her and love her, and maybe try to find her a very good, loving home if I see I just can't financially swing it. Here are some pics of her. You can't really tell how tiny she is because she's covered up. She ate like she was starved (probably was) and then climbed right into the little bed I put down for her. So I covered her up and she snuggled right in. |
Bless your heart!!!! The world need more people like you who see something and do something about it! Poor baby now has a chance at a great home. Hope the others are as lucky. |
I just can't get over how teeny she is. I mean holding her is like holding air. Honestly. She literally weighs next to nothing. :( I just gave her some nutrical and she looked at me with the sweetest little eyes and then yawned and went back to sleep - like she knew she didn't have to worry and be scared anymore. :( :( :( |

Sounds like you may have rescued this little one. I'm sure she is so happy to have food and a nice warm place to sleep. Make sure to get her to the vet tomorrow morning, and get her checked out for any illness-for her sake and for Susanah's. Keep us updated on how your new little one is doing! |
That is so sad:( she looks to have an eye infection (or maybe its the camera?) |
shes so teeny poor thing ,so glad you rescued her now she can be loved and have all the food she wants. :) |
oh those poor babies. so did the humane society come in time to take the rest of the babies? i hope they each find good homes. bless you for taking this one little girl. |
Awww poor babie, iam so happy you have her, I pray the rest of her liter mates find wonderful homes, |

I am not sure I am going to be able to keep her. She is a dollbaby, but I am worried about $$. Feeding her won't be a problem, its the vet bills. I just am really not sure if I can do it financially. I didn't stick around long after the police and humane society were called. I didn't want her to know it was me. I did see a police car pulling in as I was pulling out though. I don't know what is going to happen to the others. I hope they will all be OK. There 4 of them total - including my little girl. I've been calling her Izzy-Belle. It just seems to fit. |
Maybe you can keep her and feed her up a bit and then give her to someone who can afford to take her to the vet. Just being in your home is for sure a better situation for her to be in than in that box. 14 Weeks! That is really small for how old they say she is! |
She is sooo cute.....I hope you get to keep her....Vet bills shouldn't be that much you think? I love the name......It fits her..... You have such a good heart..... Joyce |
That was such a good thing you did today.:bravo: |
I wish I lived closer, I've wanted a Chihuahua for so long. |

She is STILL sleeping. I keep checking on her to make sure she is OK. She is just so tiny and fragile. God only knows what kind of a life she had. She seems so sad and withdrawn. :( I have two chis of my own and I know somewhere in her there has to be a spunky little chi personality. I think it is going to take a little while to bring it out. |
1 Attachment(s) Another pic so ya'll can see how little she is. For size ref, the dark red part of that little bed is maybe 9 inches across at the widest part. The part she is laying on is probably around 6 inches. Its a tiny little cat bed I bought a while back. I haven't measured her yet, but I'd say she's around 6in long and 4 in high. Her FACE looks 12 - 14 weeks, but the rest of her just seems too tiny for that age. |

What a beautiful baby. I'm sure you'll give her a great home. You'll be in love with her in no time. |
You've done your good deed for the week! She looks like such a little sweetie. Good luck on finding a loving home for her. |
did u have her checked out yet@ the vet? if there arent any major problems w/ her, i think you should keep her bcuz the vet bills wont b too hi....she needs you and wat a cutie she is im so glad there are ppl like u in this cruel world |
Well I THOUGHT I'd found her a new home. I ran into the mayor's wife and we were talking and I told her about Izzy-Belle. She said she might be interested in her and asked if she could see her. I thought, "Great! I know she will be spoiled rotten and they can definitely afford the vet bills, good food, etc." She saw her and seemed to fall in love instantly. She asked if she was full grown and I told her no that the lady said she was only 14 weeks old. I told her I didn't think she'd get to be more than 3 pounds IF she even made it past 2 1/2 lbs. Would ya'll believe she had the nerve to say to me, "Oh so she isn't going to stay this size? I don't think we'll take her then. I really want that isn't bigger than this."   |

Bless you for doing that! Just an idea on the vet bills -- is there anyway you can call the Humane Society to see if they could do a reduced or free checkup on her? I'm wondering considering the circumstances if they would be able to help! Also, I'm sure a rescue could take her in and afford her vetting if she can't otherwise find an appropriate home. Seriously, you are such a good person for doing this. Many would have walked away and just left them to have god knows what happen. *big hugs* to you and if you need anything at all please feel free to pm me. I'll help anyway I can :). Give that little baby big hugs from us!! :) |
Aww that poor baby.. I'm glad you rescued her and I hope things will work out so you can keep her.!! They should citate that woman or do something to her. Thats TERRIBLE what she is doing to them. |
Graleyne how sweet of you hun... I bet if you think you wont be able to keep her you could find a home here on YT for her or over at Chi Talk I think That is a sister site :) She has a sweet lil face. And you are a great lady.. I know it would be hard to keep her with all your responsibilities right now but. Great if you can :) |
I think I am leaning more toward hoping I can keep her. If I see that I just absolutely can't then I REALLY hope I can find a home with a YTer. |
Question - Do ya'll think it would be alright if I went ahead and gave her a bath? She smells REALLY bad. I thought I could take a little heater in the bathroom and bathe her and blow her dry. Maybe being clean and smelling better would perk her up a little bit. She just seems so withdrawn and sad. I know she is scared being away from her brothers and sisters and in a strange new place with a strange lady fussing over her. She just keeps that little tail tucked so tightly between her legs and it just breaks my heart. |
