| Stray at my parents... A stray dog has been hanging around their house for the past week. It looks bad. Like it was abused and wasn't fed. My parents gave him a blankie, water, and food. He is the most friendly dog. Not sure what breeds he is, he is obviously a mix. Today when he stood up off of his blanket my dad noticed blood on the blanket. They said it was almost like something grey with blood. I feel so sorry for him. What could it be? I've never heard of the grey before.

| We are guessing that he had some health problems and his owners didn't want to mess with him so they dumped him off. Poor guy. We all feel so bad for him.

| Oh poor thing. Maybe the blood and grey is an infected wound that is oozing pus????

| I would call the all breed rescue. That dogs needs medical attention and then a loving home. |

| I agree. And even if a rescue can't take it in, then it needs to be taken to the shelter where it can be checked over and rehomed or PTS. Unless your parents plan on taking him to the vet and keeping him.

| What area are they in? I have a couple friends in the Indiana/Ohio area. They could probably at least recommend a low/no kill shelter in the area? How big is the dog? How old does he look?

| We live near the Indiana/Illinois border. I don't know of any no kill shelters around here. He is a fairly good sized dog in height but he is really skinny. He looks older too. Not sure on the age.
