I get it every year my family is back in Panama I miss them so much,the food the music my long time friends, my pastors, my church, and when I'm in Panama for Cristmas them I miss my hubby since he ussualy work in christmas time and stay here in California. I always stress about the money and Christmas for the girls. It always turns out ok, but I still worry for a bit about how I'm going to pull it all together. This year my 18 year old might move out after Christmas, which means my child support changes and I'll have to move (my lease isn't up until the end of June). But I can't get a definate answer out of her. My folks moved a couple years back to Texas so it's just me and the girls. I have some step family but unless my folks are in town I generally never hear from them.

Ok, that's my soapbox story. In about another week I'll get out of the funk for the most part once i decorate and stuff. Week before I'll start to panic again until I get to go shopping for the kids. This year the question will be do I buy her pots/pans and towels or clothes? LOL

I also have the "blues", sometimes it's like an overwhelming sadness. I've always been the big decorator but just can't seem to get into it. For the first time since dad died my sister, BIL and nephew are coming here for Christmas so you would think I would be better.

I'm also stressing about finances since I'm not working

I kind of am getting those too. A lot of things are really different this year. The new house, new town (my old town did an AWESOME thing every year where on one night Santa would ride through town on the fire truck, then we'd go to Borough Hall and watch them light the christmas tree). and not having the dogs of course is quite weird. My cousin Patricia and her hubby Terry have Christmas at their house every year (on the 17th), but they are going to be in Sweeden this year so we will be having it at my other cousin, Donna's house. And I LOVE Donna, but there is something really special about driving up to Tricia's farm in PA and just being in her house. =/ My uncle isn't doing well....Everything is just kinda "blah" this year. *sigh*

But I'm still excited for Christmas. I hope that I can manage to sneak into the city at least once because those christmas decorations always lift me up.

Everyone going through a hard time will be in my prayers this holiday season. <3

it's seeing so many people surrounded by their loved ones that makes it more intense at the holidays.....it's such a reminder of what we lost. In the 3 months since my husband died it's still doesn't seem real - it hits so hard at any time day and night.

I want to send out hugs to you all who've gone thru losing someone close. I wish I had something really 'deep' to say but don't have the words ....I'm here if any of you need a friend ....

I get blue since I've been in Alabama for 14 years and my family is in NJ and NY. I loved christmas eve, there would be a huge dinner and everyone would be there........but we have made our own traditions.

We put the tree up and the kids decorate it, the traditional nail the tree to the wall so when the kittens climb it it stays up This will be the first year with Cody and Gracie, it's not the same as a big family christmas though.

I get those. Christmas is my favorite holiday because i have all these memories of when i was a child so actually i get sad because of the xmas music brings me back to those happy memories that arent so happy anymore, but i still love it and try to be happy

I get sad when I think about Christmas this year. It breaks my heart that my mom is so sick, but I try very hard to always be positive around her and keep things happy and upbeat. I am thankful that we get to be together, I just wish she didn't have such a scary illness.
