Im so sorry this happened to you, some thing like this happened to a friend of ours, he got a nice car from a car lot an dwas making pmts on it and when he got down to the last few pmts he went to pay them and they were closed down, there was a man there cleaning and said they closed up and he didnt know where they went. so now my friend has a car and no title. |
oh no! that's so bad! I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope there is still soemthing that can be done... |
Jodi -- I can offer no advice only say that I am so very sorry. For the life of me, I can't understand how scummy people can cheat good honest folk out of their hard earned money. I wish you the best of luck in getting justice! I happen to like the justice in the Toby Keith song -- Beer For My Horses :) |
Wow thats terrible, I hope something can be done, so sorry. |
i would call a tv station here there is contact 6 news and they get to the bottom of things alot faster then we can plus it will help to put out a warning about scams like this |

Locally, good law Q&A are posted in the paper as well as a couple of lawyers that visit the local TV news stations. Sadly, this type of case comes up far too often and, as I understand it, it is a problem nationally. One case that got a lot of local attention - A large store specializing in baby merchandise continued to take large money orders right up until their bankruptcy. At that time, they had over $300,000 in outstanding orders. Because they filed bankruptcy, all those people were cheated. Can you imagine the heartbreak and devastation this caused these poor people in this situation, some of which I'm sure, were going to be parents for the first time and could be out $1000's?! Again, I'm very sorry for your loss. I will be watching this thread in hopes of seeing your situation resolved in your favor. |
AWWW I am sorry this happened to you! In our state, these dealers must be Bonded... this may help you recover something? I dont know how things work there but it is worth checking into... call the State Motor vehicle department, maybe that would help you.. again, I am sorry this happened to you. |
One thing to think about is in the future get a traditional car loan... that way the bank will ck that there is no lien of it because they want to be able to reposses it if payment is not made... I'm not sure how an individual would go about checking that on their own... Maybe contacting the DMV before the purchase... It is really scary what ppl will do for money... I'm just so sorry, but I really think that what you need is a miracle... |
So,sorry this has happened to you!!! Hope things work out for you. |
Im so sorry this happened to you ,i would call the better business bureau, and have them investigate this matter maybe they can help you to get your money back ,but for now i would hide the truck until you get things resolved. |
Here is the existing report on the BBB:( How can a company get away with this? http://www.sacramento.bbb.org/common...ompid=37001510 |
I am just now seeing this, that is repulsive, how can people live with themselves? Boy Jodie, I sure hope something can be done, that is a heck of a lot of money.....:( |

It really is just awful. My husband and the lien company went round and round last night. They are coming to get their vehicle and i really don't think there is anything we can do about that. How do you sue a company that filed bankruptcy?:( We are out a vehicle and the money now. I don\'t know what we are going to do. It just totally sucks, i have no idea what my hubby is going to drive. And what a bad time of year to have this happen. |
I am so sorry this has happend to your family. I hate that trust is becomming such an uncommon thing. If you can find out what court they filed the bkrptcy with, you may be able to file a claim and at least get in the line of people that they owe. Hopefully, after all is said and done, you will be able to retreive some of the money owed to you. |
