| Had my first treatment yesterday....not too bad. They used one laser to do the black & one to do the colors. The black felt only slightly worse then getting the tattoo. The color laser pain was about the same until she got to the last 2 petals on the inside of my toe.....it was pretty intense. I took a small stuffed hippo with me because my hubby couldn't go & I about squeezed the stuffing out of it, but that part only lasted a half of a minute at most. It was really really sore for about 3 hours after the treatment & now I have no pain at all unless I bump it. It looks & feels like a scabbed over rug burn. I go back in 2 weeks for my follow up appointment. Right now I can't tell if there is any fading because it's all scabbed over, but I'll let you all know as soon as I can tell something.

| So far so good. Not has bad as expected. I'll have to wait a few weeks to see what kinda of fading it accomplished, but we'll see.

| I've never had this done but I saw it on LA Ink on Tuesday night. I looked pretty painful when Pixie had it done but then again she didn't use any numbing stuff so that's probably why. She had the option to have some injections or some topical stuff but she opted not to have either (she wanted to see what it felt like). She was getting it removed by Dr. Will Kirby so that was a positive!

| Where are you going for your consult? I went to an actual plastic surgery clinic. It really wasn't as bad as I thought. Make sure you ask whether or not you can take advil, I think it helped. And I definitely take something to squeeze.

| I had my second treatment last week... Ponyup... our lasers must be different because I don't have any scabbing? I think everyone reacts differently Mine haven't faded as much as I had hoped They aren't as BLACK but they were still there... So I'm just waiting for treatment #3 to show me some good results. I saw the LA Ink one! That was a HUGE area to get lasered. I didn't get any numbing with mine but the two of mine together are WAY smaller than Pixie's on the show. My Dr. doesn't offer pain meds hahaha Oh well! I'm tough! We should all update with pictures soon!! <3<3

My OBGYN actually does laser tattoo removal, she and her partner have the only laser strong enough around here to do them, so I lucked out. She and her partner have a outpatient tattoo and hair removal spa/day surgery clinic and the do microderm, thermage and all the rest of that fun stuff. Thanks for the heads up on the advil! I hope you see the results you are looking for!

| Ponyup! How is your tattoo removal going? I've switched dr.s and just had my 4th treatment. No great results so far. Do you know what type of laser your dr has been using? I just switched to a dr using a Hoya Con Bio Medilite C6. I wish this process was faster 0.o Hope all is well everyone! -Elizabeth

| How is removal going for everyone? I have had several more laser treatments and have started having a tattoo artist friend of mine tattoo hydrogen peroxide into my tattoo. Slow and steady progress! I'll post pictures soon. Anyone else?

Thor's Human Donating Member | This is an interesting thread. I have a tattoo on my foot that's almost 20 years old and it looks terrible. I've wanted to get it covered, but I was told that it would help if I had it lasered first to soften up the lines. Looking forward to hearing from others further along in the process.

Old tattoos and black/blue ink are the easiest to lighten.

| I have two cover ups way cheaper less painful, consider it Ex has his lazed to join law enforcement too(years ago though so I think it's less painful & less treatments now) anyways his was deemed too dark so after like 15 sessions of the lazer plus the cream (they give you a cream to use also) he gave up-he cried, screamed and said it was like the worse sunburn ever that had been attacked by wasps every time he moved the muscle under it for a week. It was so very faded as compared to before. Good thing he didn't get cover ups because later he did it again and it was less painful less work and the new cream was much more effective but I haven't really spoken to him about it. I forgot for some reason shades of red are harder to remove than black, blue etc so red, pink orange are really hard consider the colors...and if you went thug for a bit and it's a gang tattoo we have national programs that will remove it for free LOL! It will hurt get a consult, get their references and see their before and after pics then decide.
