What are your plans for the Holidays?

This will be a bittersweet Holiday season for me. The first since losing my Mom and she always did the cooking and I miss her sooooo much. But my first Holiday season with Chris, my birthson. We will have it at my house, yikes! and my 2 brothers, sister and their family and my Dad will all be there.

Up in the air for Thanksgiving. My brother is living in El Paso for a few months for his job. My nieces want to visit him but my SIL wants to stay here and have a "real" dinner and not something from Furrs. Sam cant go to Furrs so we will probably stay home.

Christmas.... not sure yet!! I just hope it is not a repeat of last year. Right before and a few days after Christmas, I was so very sick. My mom (lives with me) was very ill as well. Thank GOD for two bathrooms. I spent Christmas Day in the floor by my toilet

Putting up my tree Thanksgiving weekend -- I want to get a bigger one this year, pre-lit!

I'm hoping that she'll feel like it this year, but it all depends on when her chemo treatment falls. She always feels TERRIBLE the first 4 days or so and then she's fine other than being tired. If the chemo is right before Christmas, I don't know what we'll do, but we'll figure out something to cheer her up without making her feel bad.

I am more thankful than ever for the holiday season this year. Having to deal with a major illness really makes you appreciate things a lot more...

Oh---that happened with my mom, 16 years ago. We still had it at her house, (she didn't want to skip it) but I came and did all the work---decorating, cleaning, cooking, etc-------she just had to sit back and enjoy the show!
