That's what all these tests are for - to find out exactly what is on my thyroid and if I do have to take any meds or not. I wish they could have just done a biopsy - it would have been much easier. |
Hi, really the scan is simple...don't worry about it. It's basically a Geiger counter, to measure how much your thyroid takes in...to see if it's hyper or hypo. The worst part for me was paying for it...no insurance, and I actually had it done twice, the second time they wanted to check my ovaries too...it's rare for this to happen, but it does. Just try to relax, it's an important test...and your treatment will depend on it. I'll be thinking about you, wish you the best...
