It's a shame it is not as easy as people just speaking up quicker. We have all seen the threads where someone has tried to speak up and it gets turned around to the point they end up having to defend themselves. Who wants to go through that over a few dollars?
Or you get everyone jumping in defending either side, it gets heated, the thread gets closed and nobody knows what to believe.
It takes something big like this, where someone is clearly the bad guy, before the truth comes out.

Not only that but people want to believe the best of others and give them the benefit of doubt. That is wonderful but also why we will see this happen again and again here where there are so many good-hearted people.

I was just reading all the posts that have come up since I last posted...my only comment now besides talking about my disgust in here is that I really hope someone calls childrens aid on her..even though they have come and seen her before...a few more calls might be what it takes to have her truly investigated..maybe if those who have seen her home can call and explain exactly what they saw..the farm animals, the feces, no running water or well for that matter, fleas....also a call to the humane society at the same time would be helpful..someone has to stop this lady..

Default I have learned a lesson ...

but do you know for sure that she still lives there???

I know my heart is big, but I need to remember that my wallet is not as bigh as my heart .... I am going to make sure my family comes first, before giving any more hand outs ...
Janell was MORE than generous with 600$, I know she also donated a lot to help that man get a new puppy, a total stranger and she opened her heart and her wallet ...
As of now, people who need money for clothes, money for transportation, money for new puppies to replace their dearly departed, money to search for a lost puppy, they will have to work it out for themselves.
I have faith in others still, just have learned a valuable lesson here.
And, yes, I am afraid some people will jump on me for having said that!

I give to Yorkshire Terrier Rescue Network, American Diabetes Assoc., Home for the Blind, the heart Fund and the Cancer Fund ... at least I can hope my funds go for research.
I would warn others to be careful where they decide to "donate" ...
I could list all the members i have donated to, and why? Because I felt bad for them. I find it hard to believe people will take other people's money ... I shall not list them, b/c I bet they would be embarrassed now.

**Warning*** keep your money for your family ....
and pray that this girl literally cleans up her act and takes care of her children and dogs properly.

Monday, Thankfully there are those that feel the need to help others here and elsewhere and do so willingly and have no regrets of doing just that.

Jan was among the very first that wanted to help this nice gentleman to get a new puppy and this was done out of love from her heart and some others here in starting to raise the money, this was done by not coming and asking openly for donations but done from the heart of those that so wanted to help this to come about, then many others joined in to see that donations were raised to help another caring person here at YT deliver his precious one to him. This was one of the greatest of things I have witnessed here at yorkie talk. We are so happy that we got to be a part with others of helping this kind and caring gentleman after his loss. I have witnessed many times people here helping others, not because they were asked to do so but people just jumping in and doing it because they wanted to.

My lifetime way of thinking has been, if I can do what I can in helping someone in need, then I do it, we by no means are wealthy and are on a very limited income but if and when we can, we do what we can. Not all people are like this one person that did this to Jan. There are many that do these things and we do have to be cautious.

For myself I shall continue to help someone if I truely believe there is a need and do so knowing that God will help direct my path in my decision and if it isn't a good thing he will somehow let me know. There is one thing I do before I make a big decision and that is to pray about it before hand, I generally always find things come out okay.

I hope that this lady will get her life right and correct her wrongs.

Monday it is good that we can all express our feelings, without any hard feelings.

I agree Monday but there are a few exceptions. We have been taken advantage of by a long standing member (me twice) but there are some I just could not say 'no' to if I had it. Giving to a national charity is the best or someone in your own neighborhood that needs help. I give to the Humane Society once a year but maybe will use it in another way this year. If we could only teach people to not trust every person that comes on here with a sad story it would be great.

How were the puppies as far as potty training? I've seen posts where she mentioned that she used potty pads, but I did not see any while I was there. As I said in my earlier post, I saw the puppies just going on the carpeting. I do not believe that she used pads or even bothered to take them out.

Another thing that honestly made my heart hurt was that when my husband and I came inside, none of her dogs barked or made a sound...they didn't act excited or anything. There was no reaction whatsoever from them. It was like they were all depressed or something. When someone comes in our door, my dogs are all happy and excited, and I think that's the reaction of most dogs. But not hers. I don't know where Autumn was at first, but Willow went to get her and when I reached over to pet her, she kinda came toward me like she wanted me to hold her. I was already holding Lily, but I took Autumn anyway and I gave her some snuggles and talked to her. She seemed so sad to me, and I knew that if she were cleaned up, she would be so beautiful.

One other thing that still angers me to this day. Before I picked Lily up, Willow sent me pics of her. She had said that I could come and see her anytime, but that I would have to wash my hands before holding her. Of course, I understood that perfectly and had no problem with it. BUT, then she sent me pictures of her husband holding my sweet little baby with filthy hands and dirt under his nails. But yet, she said that I would have to wash MY hands??? And then, to find out she didn't even have any running water.....
from what i gather, potty training has been quite difficult for the pups and their new owners. i know my friend that has one has had a very hard time. and i believe the owner of the pup i took to texas is having a difficult time as well. i know i had a very difficult time during the days she was here. she never once used the pee pads that i had all over the place. she preferred the carpet...probably because she was used to it!!

Has anyone reported her living conditions to CPS or to the Humane Society?

I agree someone who has seen these conditions needs to report it even if childrens services has been out before.

Also, just an FYI, I do have her full name, address, and phone number. (It just rings), so my options are not limited on what method I decide to proceed with.....
The state attorney has been helpful to me in Florida. You most likely can form a complaint online in the state where she lives.
Good luck to you. You have such a positive attitude and are a great role model for us all!

Well after catching up on all the posts this morning, I can only say again, thank you YT members for exposing this person to me before she got my pup. I always reserve the right to cancel any sale at any time when I place ads. This is not the only scam artist on YT. There are a few more. Only recently, someone claimed to be looking for a pup from a few of us and i haven't quite figured it all out yet, but I think she was thinking she could scam some of us breeders into putting a puppy on the plane to her before we got money by claiming to have sent money which never arrived. in these days of lawsuits and etc, you have to be very careful of anything. If it smells like a scam of some sort, it usually is. I am not going to post on Janelle's thread anymore but once again YT members, thanks for saving my puppies life.

You are SO right!! These are my feelings exactly! I can't count the times this has happened. People are sometimes so worried about policing what others are saying that they aren't even concerned about the real problem at hand. Who others feel is being 'rude' is more of a problem than the new member who just joined bragging about breeding her 3 pound female. Well, now we see where that gets us.

Default I have donated ....

Baby Blessing, Let me go on the record to say that I had donated more than 100$ to help make it possible for this man to get his dog .... Via personal check and Paypal ...
What I am saying is we should be more cautious ... I am not rich but I do give from my heart!
After reading about these scams and cons, I am going to be more careful
Yes, I am glad we can all express our feelings and act on our emotions.
Bless your heart! No hard feelings --- my decisions had already been made -- I just will be a bit more careful in the future.
