| GAP sweat shop?? I have the news on (not watching it, but listening).....and a sweat shop was raided in New Dehli (sp) India. It is the factory where GAP clothing is made and there were children as young as 10 years old working...working 16 hours a day unpaid because they were said to still be in "training".....isn't that horrible??!! Has anyone else heard anything about it? I haven't done a search on it yet.

| I saw it on the news too. Gap is supposedly doing an investigation of it since they are against child labor. As if they didn't know. |

| Yea, somehow that's not surprising to hear. Unfortunately, this has been goin on for decades...Many "american" brands (i.e. Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, etc..) have "sweat shops" or they'd prefer to call it, "factories" where the workers are mostly local hires-including young children who will work for a dollar! Hopefully, this issue will be addressed more and come to an end one day!

| Yeah, Gap, Old Navy and another brand are all the same... Sad, but that is what they do to get through these loop holes. They want their profit, and us as consumers want a descent price (although I dont think GAP is a fair priced clothing company). Hopefully one day people will realize that you have to pay a little more to get the quality and not have these bad side effects.

| unfortunately it's everywhere. I get tons of companies emailing me from foreign countries offering to make my things for me for a super cheap price. I can only imagine what these factories really look like and who really works there. I'll continue to make my own things, thank you very much |
