This move keeps you kids in the same school district which is so important and is one big plus...if there is a plus but I'm sure it was important to all of you. How wonderful Angiedoodle (sp?) will have Maddie, I remember when she was so disappointed with her husbands surgery and couldn't get the little female she was looking at...she sounds wonderful and three states away or not you can't beat a yorkie talk member.

I guess the people at church didn't take the cats?:(

Wow Joan. I'm surprised you remember all of that. We were very disappointed back then, but decided it just wasn't a good time since socializing a puppy requires so much time and energy. I guess it worked out for the best though because if we had gotten a little girl then we wouldn't be able to take Maddie now. I'm so happy to be able to help Megan and her family out, but it's just heartbreaking that they can't keep their babies.

I haven't been posting as much on YT lately because I've been spending a lot of time on 4wt, but I will definitely be posting lots of pics and videos of Maddie so that Megan and her family will be able to see her and know what's going on. Marty is looking forward to meeting his new big (little) sister. He says he'll take very good care of her!

If no one ever re-homed dogs, we wouldn't have Sammy. We love Sammy. She has an awesome life here.

Megan, I hope you find a really good home for Rusty. Maybe someone nearby who will let you see him all the time? He is beautiful. If I could have big dogs, I would take him. Someone will see that face and want him!

I am so sad for you. I wish i could help.
Here is a story about my neighbor Susan--- hope it helps!!!
Their family had been "thinking" about getting a dog for 2 years but "mom" (Susan) really didnt want to or had time for the puppy stage of potty training and chewing..... (the kids - 13 and 8 begged at least once a week).
Well, her husband had been to his chiropractors one morning and the receptionist had a flyer at her desk all about her dog due to needing to rehome their 3 year old lab/mix. Hubby had a special feeling about this dog so they went to visit her and it was love at first site. Their kids were so excited because they had been begging for a dog for years!!!! It took Shadow about 2 1/2 weeks to adjust and now Shadow is the love of their lives. Every evening i see their entire family taking Shadow for a walk and their older son jogs with her almost every morning. This dog was the perfect fit for their family and they cant imagine how they ever lived with out Shadow as part of their lives. This was 2 summers ago and Shadow is one of my Ollies best friends!!! So think of it this way --YOUR beloved furbabies will find a loving home and have a chance to make another family as happy as they made yours. Oh my gosh how many dogs get this chance to give happiness to two families in their lives?

megan, I am so sorry you have to go thru this. Don't pay any attention to the one or two people that have said they would never do that. just consider the source . no one knows what they will do until they are faced with it. I know you love your babies and are doing what has to be done. i do hope you stay on YT . You are such a mature young lady and have added so much to the forum.

Megan, I am so sorry about this situation. It is sad when responsible pet owners must give them up. There are just too few responsible pet owners in the world.

If I lived closer, I would take them until your living situation changed..then you could have them back.

This is tough.

I'm sorry you are going through this. :( I'm sure you will find a great home for Rusty. He sure is a cutie! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Megan's mom. I don't come on YT much these days, but when Megan told me she made this post, I had to come on. You are right....we are very, very proud of Megan. She is an incredible young lady.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, those of you who have offered Megan your love, support and prayers. This has been one of the hardest things our family has ever done. Believe me, this was our last choice. My heart is broken and I don't know that I will ever get over losing these babies. They are my whole life.

For the few negative, judgemental people: Please don't ever judge anyone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. I became disabled last year, we have lost our house and looked for months for a place to rent. When we got the place we are moving in to we thought we'd be able to take the dogs. Unfortunately, that is not the case and now we are in a situation where we have to move and they can't go with us. I hope that you are never faced with what we are going through, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

AngieDoodles I can not wait to meet you. I know that Maddie will be in a good home. I guess I will be coming back to YT more often so that I can keep up on what is happening with her. Be prepared to fall head over heels in love with this little girl!

My niece is taking Tucker so we will see him. He is the only one of the 3 that I think has the personality where he'll be able to see us and not have a nervous breakdown that he isn't going home with us when we leave. He's such a happy go lucky little guy, he'll love living at her house.

Rusty is the one who needs lots of prayers. It won't be easy to find him the perfect home, but I know the power of prayer, and I know that it can happen. If you guys would just pray for him, and pray for Megan, to give her the strength that she needs to get through this. It is killing me to see my little girl have to deal with this. It really is.

Thanks everyone for your love and support.:(

I'm so so sorry Teri. You must be an incredible human being to have raised such an amazing young lady as Megan, and no doubt your son as well.

Best of luck to you, and your family.

Terri you ought to be so proud of Megan she is such a wonderful person, even at her age, I am so sorry about all of your babies, it would be the hardest thing to do, and it take big people to do it....I know you hearts are all breaking, but you will still get to see them on YT..I will pray that someone will give Rusty a wonderful home...as far as the negative on here, well Megan has been a member for a long time, and everyone that has been here for awhile knows her and they know she has no choice, so please she doesn't need your advice or comments, this is just to hard for anyone, so be nice:(

AngieDoogles 10-28-2007 04:12 PM

It's nice to "meet" you Teri. Your husband was delightful on the phone and your daughter is nothing short of amazing! I'm so sorry that you and your family are going through such a hard time right now. I can't imagine how difficult this has been. My heart breaks for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I look forward to meeting you and your family soon.

You can be assured that Maddie will be spoiled to the best of my ability. ;) She will be our second "child". (Marty thinks he's human! We'd never tell him otherwise.)

Rusty is so adorable and friendly...I'm sure someone will fall in love with him and give him an amazing home as well. I would if I could, but I don't think my husband could be talked into two new dogs at once.

Megan has my contact information. Feel free to call, IM, email, or PM me anytime you want to chat, vent...or anything. *hugs*
