Hopefully enough people saw the comments on Steve's very popular website and were deterred from buying from her. I would hope to spare anyone else the misery we went through when we bought our puppy from her. That sure does take the pleasure out of buying a new puppy. |

Oh yes you were right....we travelled 3 hours to her place. Everything she says about her "place " is true....Sooo pretty, so staged but nothing she says about the puppies there is true....sadly   |
You know almost two years ago when I first started looking I came across her site. I have to tell you I got bad vibes when I contacted her. She went on and on about how they have this huge property and that is essentially what they do for a living. Sorry but that was a big red flag to me. No one that breeds for quality vs quantity can afford that sort of set up and then when I coaxes out how many breeding females she had that put me off. For someone to be a good quality breeder they for the most part can't support themselves and a household on that alone. I feel really bad for some of the people that have suffered because of her. I know after doing research on the web I had found a site where the person had said that their pup got sick on the way home in the car and died like two days later. The lady refused to deal with them and said it was their fault that the pup died because she gave it to them and it was in good health. |
Something about her website is really odd. It's too perfect, too staged. |

Oh yes guys this is horrible! Her website is exactly like the one for yorkies......all staged! Poor little babies and the people looking for their perfect friend.I think this a new thing because it looks like still under construction. This some of the stuff she is claiming: "We home raise our Dachshunds by hand the old fashioned way! Here in our home, we raise our Dachshunds with us and not in a kennel environment. They have the run of the house!" It is so :( that she just might get away with her scam.....it makes my head boil. I'm going to tell everyone I know:thumbup:  |

I would never want anyone to have to go through the aggravation and expense that I had because of her and I know there is no way to stop her except to try and keep these warning threads alive. |
More on BAD BREEDER, Country Home Yorkies Country Home Yorkies is among the worst. Yes, she is now selling Daschunds and I've already heard from someone that bought a sick one from Denise. Since there doesn't seem any way to put a stop to her legally, the best way to combat her is to get the word around to everyone and every group you know of. Even if we can't put her out of business we can severely cut into her sales of sick dogs. Quote:

Bad Daschund & Yorkie Seller & Discussion Group There is a Yahoo discussion for Daschunds. It's located at the following URL: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/joshsdaschundclub/ You have to join in order to post there but if you don't want to do that try sending an email to the list owner. Quote:

Wow Oh my goodness... My husband and I bought our Yorkie from Denise 2 years ago and I just came across this thread yesterday. You can imagine my shock. We love our little guy and so far he seems healthy, but I'm of course nervous about what the future holds. Is she reselling all of the dogs or does she breed some herself still? I'll have to go back through the paperwork we got from her and see exactly what it includes, but I am very sad and disappointed to hear about this. Have there been any specific illnesses reoccuring in puppies coming from her that we should have ours checked for? I'm just not sure where we go from here after learning about this... Thank you for getting the word out there! |
About Denise To the best of my knowledge, most of the dogs Denise sells she gets from others. That makes her a "Broker" and they are no better than a pet store or Puppymill. Denise is now selling Daschunds as well as Yorkies and I've had negative reports about the health of the Daschunds and Yorkies she's selling. The stories remain the same: no papers, no receipts, no response when you call and leave a message and no guaranty that protects the buyer, ONLY HER. She accepts no responsibility if the dog is sick or even dies. She blames everything on the new owners. I'm not sure of the health risks to Daschunds but all Yorkies should be Bile Acid tested for liver disease. Yorkies have a 36% greater chance of a liver shunt than all other breeds combined but even that percentage is changing as other breeds and cross bred "Designer Dogs' are entering the market. A Designer dog may look cute but they are no more or no less than a Mutt :animal36 . That's not bad but the prices asked for something like a Yorkie-Poo are more "Poo" (that's meant to be a pun" than anything else. No matter the age of your Yorkie it should have a Bile Acid Test. This test costs about $40-$50 dollars but it's well worth the cost if you value your dog's life and future. Don't let a vet dissuade you, insist that it be done. If you have any other questions you can contact me directly at satman@yorkies.com. |
We did buy our puppy from Denise and fortunately he is wonderful. I do feel like a fool and feel totally betrayed. What's worse is that when we have traveled we have brought the dog back to her to take care of him. How stupid are we? Got an uneasy feeling from her but fell in love with the dog. He has been very healthy and beautiful. We must have gotten lucky, but I also recommended her to someone else who bought a dog. Thank God I found your site. |
Obviously not every dog Denise sells is sick but the problem is she sells a lot of dogs that are sick and she won't acknowledge that or where she gets her dogs from. She doesn't give AKC papers because most of her pups are NOT AKC registered or bred by her. Even if they were AKC registered, the papers would indicate who the breeder was, where the breeder was located, and it would show she wasn't the breeder. Incidentally, there are over 15 other pet registries here in the U.S.A and other than the AKC all the others are bogus and their papers aren't worth the paper they're written on. These other pet registries are set up by disreputable breeders in order to give papers that look official. Deceptive to say the least! I would be very careful who is left to care for your male dog when you're away, especially if he has not been neutered. He could be used for breeding purposes without your knowledge. Using a male for breeding has consequences: Using your male at stud will 1) make him forever start to mark your furniture and anything else he can to attract the females 2) make him impossible to house break 3) make his urine very stinky 4) make it necessary for you to keep him confined or in diapers because of the marking 5) cause the possibility of VD, Brucellosis and other infections 6) increase the risk of testicular cancer from not being neutered As a stud dog, you have to be content to know that housebreaking is never going to be the same. Our dog has been neutered and never got sick at her home. Obviously we would never go near her again. It's amazing what a great bs artist she is as she even sold Boston Magazine a bill of goods. How sick!! |
Glad to see this post is still alive! Hello, its been almost a year since I bought my puppy from Denise, and it was about a month after I bought her that I had found this post-- and got sick to my stomach! I'm happy to report that so far, she is doing well, and I'm just hoping that I got lucky. They did find a slight heart murmur, and I had an ultrasound done before I spayed her. The vet said for now, it appears not to be serious but they will continue to monitor...again, feeling a bit lucky. I head to the vet for her annual check-up in a couple weeks, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all is still well. For those of you that have said you feel like fools, I know that feeling. The good news is, someone asked me for a yorkie breeder, and with a smile I told them who to stay away from! :) |

I am so glad to hear your little baby is doing well and I hope she stays that way. :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown |
Bad Yorkie Seller Ive been reading these posts for a bit. I just have to tell you that months ago I called Denise Ronayne. I had seen her site and was impressed. She called me back and i made plans to go to Sutton, MA but before i called her the second time I ran across this thread and read the posts. You all did stop this person from getting shafted. Thanks to you all. Maineyorkiemom |
I'm so sorry for all the sick little dogs being sold by this awful broker - PLEASE Post this on the MAIN YorkieTalk Breeder Review Section - people need to be aware of this woman - I happened to find this thread by accident but alot more people will see it if you all do another Thread HERE - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=43 |
I am not the originator of this thread but would be happy to move it and post as you suggest to main breeder thread - I just don't know how to move a thread. I know the person who originated this thread is most likely not online this week - so would be glad to help. Please let me know how to do this. Thanks. Leslie |
Thanks for the heads up. Sorry there are people like this around. |
Country Home Yorkies Hi .. I just saw an ad for Country Home Yorkies on YT. Her website is so lovely, I am hoping it doesn't convince any new YT members to give her a call. Anna http://www.dogster.com/dogs/511397 |
Wow what a mess. |
many "almosts" I'm sure I think with every new puppy search in this area, we run across Countryside. I have a strong rule not to ever buy from a puppy mill, resell, or pet store. I just brought home my Yorkie baby a few weeks ago. I had researched and searched for weeks. I lucked out and found a puppy from a home who had both parents from completely different lines. I could tell he loved his dogs and both parents were sweet dogs. I really liked seeing the puppy in a loving human family as well as dog family. Unfortunately, people do not do research and give in to the "gotta have it now" emotion and do buy from these places (or just don't realize). Thank you for publicizing this aweful place. I too researched on Yorkietalk before I found my baby. I also heard about this breeder who overcharged and bred major health problems very close to me. She brags about her puppies "bear" faces and the clebrities of the Boston area who own her dogs. I didn't like her when I spoke to her on the phone. I could tell it was a real business to her. Thanks again for the info... |
Countryhome Yorkies Thank you Cooperk for updating this thread...The only thing we can do in the hopes of helping other Yorkie buyers is keep these type of threads alive and hope People will research before buying ! I do not think any of us buyers care about her lovely country home...what we care about is the health and good breeding practices for our Yorkies ! :D |

Trust me, I was there at the llovely home, I met the lovely lady and I bought the adorable SICK PUPPY !!! I sure do wish I had been warned.  |
Cuontryside What I'm asking from anyone that bought a Yorkie, pug, or dascshunt from Denise and has registration papers for their dog, please contact me directly at satman@inbox.com. There are several agencies interested in her sales practices and where the puppies are coming from. The AKC papers should indicate the actual sire, dam, and breeder. Quote:
