| New to Yorkie Talk I am new to this site and do not have my puppy yet. Have been talking to breeders and getting educated, as i have never had a puppy before. Does anyone have experience with bringing a new puppy into an enviroment with a resident pet. My cat is 16 years old and has been an "only" pet. Not sure if he will adapt or if it would be better to wait (although i don't want to! ) until he passes to get a yorkie. Any suggestions?? Thanks jac23 |

| Welcome to YT! You will love it here. I do not have any other pets besides Ben, so I didnt have a problem. But I did introduce him to my SIL dog and my MIL dog and they all got along just fine. My MIL has a yorkie that is alittle older then Ben, and he kept trying to hump him and pee on him! But it has calmed down now. I dont know about cats, my family memebers dont have cats, so that would be interesting to see how they interact with each other. I'm sure that it would be fine, they will get used to each other.
