| Good breeder experiences I made the mistake of asking for a list of bad or questionable breeders in the New England area and got very little response. I realize I was wrong in expecting people to speak poorly of someone. That was unfair of me. I would like to hear of some good experiences from dealings with their breeders. It will be very helpful in my search for a new Yorkie pup. Thanks for your help. This is a great site for Yorkie info ! |

| I got my boys from a breeder in Hillsboro NH. I think she was a hobby breeder, but has been doing it for 25 years. She had about 15 adult yorkies and they had full run of her house. Besides needing a good brushing/grooming they all looked happy and healthy, socialized. My 2 boys were about 2lbs when I got them at 9 weeks. I saw mom and dad and the rest of the litter. I got the papers to register them with AKC but she didn't register them, nor did I since they are pets for me. There was one thing that was questionable.... my boys had a vet check at 8 weeks and got dewormed and their first round of vacs.... she gave me the vet check paperwork saying they were healthy. At 12 weeks they went to my vet for another check and their second round of vacs and one of them had a heart murmur. It was big enough for the vet to warn me about potential tests and costs and procedures in the future. Yet, her vet check paperwork didn't mention it and she didn't say anything about it. I found it hard to believe that her vet missed it, when mine was concerned about it. At 6 months he still had the murmur. She told me that she would give him a year... if he still had it, then tests were going to be needed. Well by a year it had closed thank goodness. She did not give me a health guarantee... however she did tell me if I had any questions or needed help/advice to just call her. Anyways, they are 3.5 years old now and Ive never had any issues with them at all. So overall I was/am happy with her. PM me if you want her name/number. I have to find the paperwork to get it. Good Luck with your search!
