| A yorkie at the mall? Does anyone knows what is allowed and what is not as far as taken our yorkies to public places? I went to the MAll sunday and i was envious!!!! I saw at least 3 people carrying theyr yorkies inside the stores, including Macy's ... I never took Maxx to the mall as i thought it was forbiden... I am shy and i would shoot my self if i tried and someone aproaches me to ask me to leave... besides my boyfriend thinks the same: if anyone comes to us and gives us a lecture he would disapear right there... Have any of you guys taken your yorkies to the Mall? What is the "purse carrier" rule? Is it true that inside the purse they can go anywhere? If anyone knows more about this please help us out.... I wis i could take Max everywhere ... i would even take him to the movies if i could... he is well behaved and loves to go places and see people... specially dressed up in his fancy "polo dog " shirt ... hehehe

| Ive taken Cali to the mall and everyone loved her! The people at Nordstrom told her she was wecome back anytime! You might want to call ahead of time if youre really worried, but I think for the most part, as long as he is in a carrier or stroller, youll be fine!

| I've taken mine to the mall in their stroller, and had no problems at all.

| Going to the mall We took Kiki to the mall several times and everyone stopped to greet her. We even went into the Coach store where my daughter was purchasing something (I was sure the saleswoman would tell us to leave with Kiki) but she came right over to her and started petting her. Another time when I was at Macy's alone, I saw an older woman walking her two Yorkies on a double leash right on the Macy's floor. The salesman was helping her look for items and he never once told her to pick them up. I was really shocked. We always carry Kiki if we go into a store. I really didn't think dogs were allowed to actually walk in the mall. Anna http://www.dogster.com/dogs/511397 |

| I have taken Muffy to the mall and many other places. The only place to ask us to leave was Wal-Mart!!! I was so mad. I told them I was in the dog section and wasnt planning on going to the food part but we had to leave. I left with a few choice words for them. They said there was a sign but there wasnt. I asked if they wanted me to leave my baby in the car to die. I was being loud so that other people would hear me . I havent been back there. My dog is most likely cleaner than most of the dang bratty kids the let in there.

| Murfee has gone to the mall several times. He even had his picture taken with the mall Santa. No one has ever said a thing. Now we did get kicked out of Dollar General the other day and we weren't let in WalMart (although we snuck in a couple of times).

| I've taken both babies a lot of places together in their stroller. Last Thursday night I took them with me to a midnight madness sale at a local outdoor mall. Went into Coach and Off Saks 5th with no problems. We have 3 local malls that are dog friendly and allow leashed, well behaved pets. I've taken them to our local Target too. I've taken them to South Beach, Dadeland and Aventura Malls in Miami. The Cheesecake Factory in Aventura Mall allowed us to dine in their outdoor seating area. I also stayed in a pet friendly hotel in Ft. Lauderdale last July and we were allowed to dine in outdoor seating at a restaurant on the beach. The only time I was told to leave was at Walmart. I don't think most people notice them in the stroller since I keep the top zipped up. Overall, I have had a good experience taking them places.

| Thanks... that is good talk.... Hy everyone, thanks so much for the responses... wow... I guess Walmart is not so pet friendly huh... I am not sure if i would ever carry Maxx in a stroller.... he loves to be on the arm up high... I guess i am going to be couragoeus and Tkae him fo a "spin" one of these days ... hehehe... I wish i could take him with me everywhere and all the time... he is the only and it is so easy for me... Thanks again everyone for all the postings... I heard that on Europe we can even take them inside restaurants and eveyone is pretty open minded about pets... they must be a "step ahead" of us in this matter...

| It depends on the mall. There are a few I've taken Brody in and I got told he wasn't allowed to be in a couple of them. There is one that allows dogs which I think is great! That's the way it should be.

| Well... I have called my local mall just to be sure. They had told me yes, as long as she was in a carrier. So, I'd say just be sure to take her carrier with you. It seems to be fine to take your pet in any store that doesnt have food items, then it becomes a health issue... Though, I've taken her to Walmarts, Targets and other clothing stores with no problem

| This is a great thread/question! I've always been a little nervous to take Bella with me too. Now I think I'll give it a try!

| Mall Pup! I also take mine with me but only one at a time.usually no one knows they are even with me because they are so quiet and I have them in a carrier that looks like a purse.and the only time when someone has seen them and I was asked to leave was at wal-mart too.
