| baby teeth aren't falling out Our Gracie is 7 months old and her baby teeth aren't falling out when her adult teeth come in. Has anyone else had this problem with their Yorkie? She has four canine on bottom (2 baby and 2 adult teeth) and one eye tooth is coming in on top and the baby tooth is still there and isn't loose.

| Chachi still had baby teeth when he was 7 months. I had him neutered and the vet pulled them. If they arent out by a yr old I would have the vet take them out

| Bella is 7 months old also and she has the same problem. I've seen other posts on this site talking about the same thing. I think it must be fairly common with Yorkies. I've only had Labs until now and have never run into this until now. From what I've read in the past it sounds like the baby teeth should be pulled because there could be more problems with tooth decay. I'm going to talk to my vet, I don't want to get any pulled until I know that all of her adult teeth are in. I only want her to have to go through that once.

| Keely is at 9 months now and just one fell out. When we take Maverick for his first check up we are going to have the vet pull her other baby teeth. The baby teeth are making it so her bottom teeth are spreading and a small gap is forming. It is cute because her little tounge sticks through it, but I would like to have the problem corrected. Do they make doggie braces to help re-align teeth like that? |

| Hi there, my Paisley is also 7 months old. She lost a few baby teeth about a month ago and I thought they would all fall out once they started but I was wrong. She still has quite a few baby ones in there and definately has the double teeth going on. She's been drooling really bad the past few days. At first I thought it was her eyes and now I definately know its coming from her mouth. I just called the vet to ask about this and apparently it is normal. She will be getting spayed November 1st and will have the baby teeth pulled then.

| Scooter lost his front bottom baby teeth all at the same time, but his baby canines didn't come out on top or bottom and now he too has a double row of teeth. Also, his breath was really stinky. Yesterday, checking his mouth out, I saw a back molar that was coming out but still stuck (does that make sense) anyway, I pulled it and guess what! No more stinky breath. He's being neutered 10/24 and the vet will pull any other baby teeth he might still have. |

| Gracie is so small and we haven't decided if we want to have her spayed or not. She is 7 months old and weighs 2 3/4 lbs. Our daughter-in-law told us that it would be best to have the baby teeth pulled and have her spayed at the same time. I want to make sure all the adult teeth are in before we would have her spayed. Don't want to put her thru more than we have to.

| Memphis is almost 11 months old and still has two of his baby teeth! He has an appointment in January, and if his teeth do not fall out by then I will see what the doc thinks. Memphis had such a bad time with the anaesthesia, that I can't do that to him again.... especially if he doesn't need it!!! After his surgery, he could not walk straight or far , he was sore all over, and was vomiting! Poor thing if I had not known better I would have thought he was hungover from a night out on the town!!!

| How do you post a picture of your Yorkie. I'd like for everyone to see our Gracie but haven't figured it out yet.

| Yorkie Teeth My yorkie is 1.5 years old, we just got him a little while ago and some of his baby teeth came out since we have had him but he still has probably 5-6. Our vet charges an additional $20 per tooth pull on top of his teeth cleaning visit so I am really not wanting to pay the extra if I don't have to. His breath is sort of smelly but his teeth are in great shape. We brush them twice a week and he even lets me floss between the teeth. If they pull out his baby teeth he will have gaps where his adult teeth never came in and I am worried about this. Any suggestions? |
