HELP - please LOOK at this!!
 

I need you guys to look at these two videos of my little boy Murphy. He has been having these (what I call) tremors for a little while now and now they are getting worse. He used to have problems when he was a puppy and had hypoglycemia so at first I thought it was just that but now they are getting worse and seem to immobilize him.

The vet I take him too ACTUALLY told me I was over reacting when I asked about it and so now I am PISSED :mad: :mad: beyond belief and taking him in to a new Vet Saturday morning.

I just spoke to his breeder who said what she thought it could be. She is so sweet and trying to calm me down and help me figure out what could be wrong with my baby boy. Most of you who know me ... know I LOVE my Murphy boy and it is just killing me that something could be wrong with him. I am praying PLEASE GOD let him be okay.

Any one know what this could be or seen their baby do this? :confused:

Sorry for my voice in the video I was trying to calm him down since I was filming him instead of holding him like I normally do when he has these attacks. I needed video of it so I could show the Doctor. I am tiered of trying to explain it. Also the videos are a little dark - don't know if there is a way to lighten them?????

My Shadow has siezures and it looked just like that. How often does he do that? Your vet ,well never mind.

Ah..... poor Murphy. :( :aimeeyork That was hard to watch, but you needed to film him to show the next vet. I hope the vet gets to the bottom of Murphy's problem. He is such a sweetie pie. Please keep us informed.

Oh God Caren, I know you are scared to death! Did your vet think they could be seizures? Our first dog Basil had seizures that looked very similar. The vet put him on a common seizure medication- I am totally blanking on the name but the same on humans take and he was completely fine after that. He had to have blood work twice a year to make sure the medication level was okay but that was it. I know I almost had major heart attacks until he was diagnosed. Spike and I are sending you big hugs and kisses Murphy!

Edit- just remembered the meds- it was Phenobarbitol. Worked like a charm.

That poor baby. Your vet seems to have NO HEART. I cant believe he told you you are over reacting. You have every right to be pissed.
My first thought was seizures as well... then i wondered if he has something wrong with his back. The seizure thing seems more correct though.
I hope and pray that your visit on Saturday is more productive and an answer is there. I will check back for updates

Ooooh, Tink's seizures look like that too when she's standing. When she's lying down, she just flails her legs and arms and her head jerks to one side.
But Tink's are neuro system damage from having an infection (histoplasmosis) and she was really sick before the seizures started. I don't know what to tell you except it's good that you're going to a different vet. Your old one needs ears and glasses! Good luck with your little love.

That's the most common one they use. It's what Tink is on now.

That poor baby, please take him to another veterinarian if you can get in to see a neurologist without a referral that is what I would suggest. Good Luck to you and that sweet baby.

They have been getting worse and worse so thats why I am taking him in to another vet. Lately he is having one a week or every other week.

Seriously I feel so stupid for saying this and feel like such a bad mommy but the vet has been telling me I am over reacting for a while now so I have just let it go thinking I am paranoid.....BUT seriously something is wrong right - I am not losing my flipping mind here????

Thanks Nikki....you know how much I love my Murphy Boy...I just need to get some answers so he is okay in the long run. I am going to see a new vet on Saturday - hopefully he can help.

Don't beat yourself up, we try and trust our vets. You need to see someone else, you are right... your vet is dead wrong.

I know first hand that you are an amazing mommy! Don't ever doubt yourself. We depend on our vets so much but I guess sometimes they let us down. You did all the right things and it is in no way your fault!

I am so sorry about little Murphy. That just broke my heart to watch, so I can't imagine how your feeling. :( My first thought was a seizure. Snoot had a seizure for the very first time about two months ago. It's the only one I've ever seen but it was nothing like this. However, I read alot online and this does seem like one type that I read about. I never realized how many differen't types there are. I'm so sorry he's going through this. We will keep you guys in our prayers. Give your sweet little boy kisses from all of us. ;)

Started crying just from the first 10 seconds of the video. Prayers and big hugs to both of you. First give the vet the boot. Then a new one and a neurologist. Hope get better soon. Keep us informed please:( :getwell:

I don't blame you for being worried! I would take that video to the vet! That's how Lily was acting in the beginning of her seizure, but then she would lay down and her front paws would jerk, along with her body. It's so hard to watch, and you feel so helpless.

Please do let us know what the vet says. You're in my prayers!

Oh Caren, those videos almost had me in tears! My hubby and I both sat here and watched them. Girl, I honestly have no advice as I have never seen anything like that before...but I feel SO AWFUL for little Murphy! I seriously wanted to just cry watching those videos. I can totally understand how TERRIFIED you must be. It would just kill me to have to see him do that all the time :cry8:

If you don't mind, I will show these videos to Tatum's breeder and see what she thinks. She is a very, very sweet lady and has bred and raised Yorkies for YEARS...she is very educated and maybe she will have an idea of what this might be. Maybe she can give me some advice to give to you - although I do think it is best that you take him to another vet as you said you will be doing. SHAME on that other vet for telling you that you were over reacting!! :mad: I can't stand doctors/vets who act like they just DON'T CARE!!! It completely furiates me!!! :mad:

I will e-mail the video links to Tate's breeder now and see what she thinks. Her hubby had surgery today, so I'm not sure if she will get back to me tonight, but I will let you know AS SOON as she does.

OH YES....Thank you Brooke, all the opinions and advice I can get would be great. I will keep you informed as to what the new Vet says. And don't you dare apologize for the videos girl! I TOTALLY understand why you posted them and I would have done the EXACT SAME THING. It was just so sad to see him do that and I feel so sorry for the little guy :( But posting the videos was the right thing to do and again, I would have done the very same!

OMG Caren - you must be scared to death and your old vet is crazy!!!!!! Poor Murphy. Hopefully the new vet will recognize what it is and be able to treat him right away. Sending prayers your way.

Wow, that was really hard to watch. Poor Murphy. You are NOT overreacting. I would get him to a new vet right away to find out what's wrong. Wow, I'm so worried about Murphy please keep us posted on how it goes. Miss Q and I are sending tons of hugs and kisses his way hoping everything works out and he gets the help he needs to get better.

I just wanted to say that you are brilliant for thinking of taking videos!

My son had seizures (complex partial seizures) when he was in jr. high and I had a terrible time finding a doctor who would believe me (and his teachers). I wish I had thought of videotaping an episode.
