Poor baby. I hope the new vet will be able to help Murphy. You are an excellent mother. Who cares what other people think about videotaping your baby. As long as you can get to the solution to his problem, that is all it matters to you. Please keep us update and we will be sending yorkie prayer!!! |

Ask your vet about this. |

He does not lose control of his bowel movements or urinate at all. His mouth seems VERY dry though when it happens and he pants like crazy like he is dehydrated or something. He is going to be 2 years old in November. Thanks for your help! |

NO acid bile Test has ever been done just blood when he was younger. I wrote that done though to ask about - thanks! |
How terribly sad for you and Murphy!!!! The only experience I've had with an animal having a seizure is when my indoor bunny rabbit had a seizure associated with her liver problems, but you are doing the right thing by taking the video and seeing a new vet. PLEASE keep us updated on little Murphy! It scares me so much to hear of YT babies getitng sick at 2 and 3 years old. I always think that Sukoshi is a happy, healthy baby girl since she's almost 1 and (knock on wood) hasn't had any real problems. It just keeps you grounded to realize these things can start happening any day, at any age. Give Murphy lots of hugs from Sukoshi and I. |
Update! OMG thanks you guys - all of you have been so tremendous with your response and help - I love you all!! :) I have spoken to a new vet and moved his appointment up to tomorrow morning instead of Saturday. I would go today but have meetings on and off all day. I will make sure to give you all an update tomorrow after I get back from the new vet. Also I was able to bring him in to my work today for a while and keep him with me and some of the girls when i go into meetings. I have such a work friendly office so it is no problem. He is okay so far today. My hubby just came and picked him up and took him home with him and to be back with Mia - I am sure she is wondering where he has been all day! Thanks again! |
Omg iam so sorry, watching the video was so sad, gosh i hope evything turns out ok, sending you lots of prayers and hugs, i hope a new vet will know something that can help, my sisters spanial had those and he was on med for a long time, praying for you:( |
Poor Murphey :( . That video was heartbreaking to watch. I hope your new vet identifies it right away and gets him the right treatment:thumbup: . Please keep us posted, and you and Murphey will be in our thoughts. |

I'll be checking in tomorrow again to see how everything goes. I extend my prayers and well wishes. Please, please post an update whenever you get a chance after his appointment. |
oh my god i am soo sorry about that! I couldn't even bare to watch the whole video, you are so strong cause i would be in tears if i saw one of mine like that and wouldn't be able to watch them :( Poor Murphy, i say take him to another vet |
HELP - please LOOK at this. We treated our Murphy for hypoglycemia and one day the syrup did not stop the seizure. I ran him to the vet and he was diagnosed with Epilepsy. He was started on phenobarbitol and he only had a few break through seizured when he would get real excited. We have since lost him to old age, but after he started his medication we didn't have any more trouble. I know how scared you must be. The trembling and panting is just awful. I hope the new vet can figure it out. |
Where in Florida are you located? I have an excellent vet not too far from Orlando if you need to find someone else. Just yell! It's Geneva Oaks Animal Hospital in Geneva. He's excellent! |
Thinking about you today. Hope things go well with the new vet. Hugs from me and Gizmo. |

You are not crazy. It looks like seizures to me too and if my dogs were acting like that, I would tell the vet where do go if he told me I was overreacting. I'll say prayers for you and Murphy. Hugs, Ruth & Tony Reggie & Sophie |
Caren, First and formost...change Vet's right now! Of all of the stupid things to say to you! I went through that too. My Pepper had a neurological illness called Cerebellar Abiotrophy and at first the Vet told me too that it was all in my mind or I was blowing it out of proportion. I too had to video tape one of his, what I called dingy spells...he looked like he was drunk...then all I got was "it is something neurological" We lost Pepper on June 27 because it had progressed so far...I am NOT saying this is what Murphey has!!!!! It was a hard road we traveled with our beautiful boy but he lived 2 1/2 years LONGER than the vets said he would! I am praying for you and your Murphy and sending you love and support. |
I'm steaming about your vet. How invalidating. It could be seizures as others have said - there are some very good medications for seizures these days. You will show the videos to the new vet, right? Do you feel that he's fully "conscious" as he's going through this? If he is conscious, then it may not be seizures. My heart goes out to you - how terrible for you to have to watch your baby go through this. And, my heart goes out to Murphy too. You're getting to the bottom of it, so have faith in what a great Mom you are. All the best, Ann |
Hey Caren! Just checking in to see if y'all are back from the vet. Hope everthing is going well and I'll be checking in all day. We're thinking about you and Murphy and sending y'all lots of positive thoughts and hugs! |
I hope Murphy gets results today and it will somehow be ok. Prayer's coming for you and your furbaby. Finger's crossed too. |
I hope the new Vet is knowledgeable about Neurological issues. Can't wait to hear how it goes today! Yorkie Hugs!!!!! |

Prayers for the seizure babies 1 Attachment(s) I have been reading through the posts and watching the videos. My Bailey had her first seizure today which lasted 30 minutes before she perked up. She pooped, was panting then breathing became shallow, body was stiff like paralized, moving mouth open and closed real wide, she seemed to be in a daze and eyes remained open, she was so calm (and she is normally very hyper). Just before getting to emergency vet she perked up, sat up and looked around, and has been fine eversince, calm and tired, but fine. I have been giving little feeds/treats every few hours for possible hypoglycemia. I will call our regular vet first thing in the morning, and keep an eye on her all night tonight. Thanks to you all for all the valuable information when you have nowhere to turn, you can find quick answers here. Bless you all and your Yorkie babies. xoxoxo Joan & Bailey |

I feel for you and Bailey, it's a scary thing...and makes you feel so helpless to sit by and watch...and wait for what seems like an eternity, to come out of it. Give her an extra kiss from me and Winston and please keep us updated. |
Bailey My Bailey is3 1/2 years old and weights around 5 pounds. She is my prescious baby. I haven't had any more episodes, i bought Nutri stat and have been making sure she eats something every few hours (in event it was hypoglycemia), I am calling the vet this morning for a check up. Nice to meet you. This site has become my new addiction... |
