hopefully your new vet will guide you thru this and offer a solid course of treatment. I've read there are dogs that can live long lives in spite of tremors and 'seizures' - Murph didn't look likt he was seizing to me - it was more like body 'tremors' girl - you have friends.....if you need to talk or call - I'm here. |
OMG I am so sorry.....I pray VERY hard for you! I hope this is all over soon and I understand how you feel. Seizures are the WORST thing ever. |

I'm so sorry your baby is going through this. Your vet sounds like a total jerk - should get another job!!! I hope you find out what's wrong. Great idea with the video!! Get well soon baby! |
I'm thinking about Murphy this morning and I hope this new vet will get these under control. *Hugs to you* |
Feel better Murphy! Your poor baby! We hope you can get to the bottom of this, and he feels better soon! He is such a cutie! Sorry we don't know what is wrong. |
There are a LOT of different kinds of seizures. Some don't even look like seizures at all. My son would just get this weird blank look on his face for a couple of minutes and shake a little. He would not even fall down or anything. His started on the onset of puberty, and went away a few years later. He's been symptom and medication free for over 5 years now. I feel certain that there are a lot of different seizure presentations in dogs as well. |
Did Murphy ever have a bile acid test done? Liver issues can also cause seizures. Please let us know what the vet says and give Murphy kisses from my gang. I know how you feel as one of my yorkies has MVD (compromised liver) and the other one has just been diagnosed with a collapsed trachea. My vet didn't take me serious about the honking episodes until I showed him a video and then he immediately said we need xrays. The xray confirmed a minor collapsed trachea. Both are on medication. Prayers for Murphy!!!! |
This just broke my heart. I pray that you will find that help that you need. Good choice to get a new vet!!! My prayers are with you! |
Nobody knows Murphy the way you do!! Taking the video is the best idea I've ever seen. No one can deny there is a problem with that as proof. Poor baby:( The video just breaks my heart. I'll praying for you both. |
I know you're doing your best, and I'm sending prayers. Just go get another vets opinion, because yours' sounds cold and heartless. It wouldn't hurt him if your baby died, but it would hurt you, so get a second opinion. |
Thank you so much for posting these videos. I know it must have been so hard to take them while the seizures were happening. Connor had a seizure not too long ago and I sent copies of your videos to my husband to see if this is what he saw. (I wasn't home when it happened.) Please, please let me know what the vet says. My vet took the bile test and blood work and ruled everything out except epilepsy, but he wants to hold off putting him on medicines until we know how frequent and how bad they are. So far he has not had any others. But we are definitely keeping tabs on him. Your tape just broke my heart! I want to run home and just hold Connor! How frightening! Please keep us posted. You are in our prayers. |
 I couldn't click on it knowing it would break my heart but sending out warm comforting hugs to you both |
