| ![]() Freya is just adorable, such a tiny wee lil baby, ya just can't help spoiling them lol especially when you see how much they enjoy what you buy them, they are like children lol. I am so happy Freya found her way to you,you are being such a good dad. Please think about getting her spayed ASAP, it's soooo important to her health and well being.

I'm currently hunting a good vet. Any advice on how to find one? I've never had to find a vet before lol. I'm kinda terrified she's too tiny for spaying.

| ![]() How to find a vet, ask anyone you see walking a dog what vet they use. If you buy Freya's dog food in a pet store like PetSupplies, PetSmart, PetCo ask any customer there who they use, don't ask the cashier, they will tell you to their medical plan. I know how hard it is to find a good vet, I went through it when I lived in NY. I have a fantastic vet here in Pa. with 24/7, 365 days clinic. Hopefully other members will offer up ways of finding a vet. When I had my very first yorkie I said the same as you, she's to tiny to be put under the knife, so she never got spayed, when she was 13 years old she got Pyometra, her uterus was filled with puss and erupted, the puss went into her system, the vet gave her a full hysterectomy but it was to late. I would never want anyone to see their baby die the way my girl did. Every heat your baby has puts her at risk for Pyometra and Mammary gland tumors, that is why it is so important to get a female spayed before their first heat.

I will do that. I'm, at this moment, looking at a vet site in my area. What I'm not terrified of is her dying under anesthesia. I've heard stories...

| ![]() When the time comes, make sure the vet does pre-op blood work, this is to make sure the liver can filter the anesthesia. Some veterinarians skip this blood work to save the client money. It is important this blood work is done.
