Loved the video!!! People who don't have Yorkies can't even imagine how special they are to the people who love them. Gidget is my ESA and I can't imagine going anywhere without her. She keeps me busy, grounded and social. Can't go to any store without someone stopping to talk to her and asking me questions about her. Then they go on their way with smiles on their faces. Have just recently starting taking Gidget to a nursing home for a visit. Oh my. Thought I wouldn't get out with her. Residents and staff all fell in love with her. Told me to bring her back anytime and she could visit the residents in their rooms. Plan on doing this a couple of times a month. What a blessing to the residents and Gidget loves the attention. She loves people and gets so excited when someone pays attention to her and pets her. YORKIES ARE JUST TOO SPECIAL!!

That's awesome you're able to share her healing skills! Jillie visits the hospital too as a registered therapy dog, and it's the highlight of my week.

Gidget isn't a registered therapy dog but the nursing home just needs her current shot record. I've thought about looking into the requirements for a therapy dog but haven't so far. Might need to think about it.

Yeah, if you're just visiting the nursing home and they have no requirements other than shots, I wouldn't worry about it. Advantage to registering with Pet Partners is members qualify for their insurance policy, protecting the facility and the dog. But I've always figured how much damage can a Yorkie cause? You can check out petpartners.org if interested. Basically, you learn what skills are needed and practice, then find a local evaluation and get examined by insltructors. If you pass, you're registered for two years before having to renew.
