| Could it be he thinks his bed is his momma? View My Video Out of curiosity can anyone explain what my boyfriend's dog is doing here? ever since he was a baby hes been doing this , at times it can go up to an hour. Some times he actully falls asleep doing this. And its only on his bed. Like the one hes on now is almost new and he continued to do it even on his new bed. Also, when hes in the zone you cant call him because he wont come to you until he is completely done with what hes doing, unless you have a treat ofcourse. anyone can explain? this is the only dog ive seen do this lol

I can't really see what he's doing, but one of my yorkies has rituals she does before she goes to sleep, which involves licking mine or my husband's arm. It seems to soothe her and then she falls asleep. I too have wondered if it was some carry over from when she used to nurse. Sometimes the two dogs will lick each other's tongues like they are French kissing. This will go on for a long time. I've never seen dogs do that before. Maybe I should videotape it and play some Barry White in the background.

How old was he when he was taken from his mother ? Cats often do this when they are taken away from the mother too soon. Sometimes they stop as they mature but sometimes they don't ever stop suckling & cushing.

Our boy, Casey would do this often, and did it all his life (14 years). He would even do it on command

It looks like he is nursing. Did he get taken from his mommy, early?
