Can you give us some tips? Is it all about repetition consistency love and treats?
My little one is turning into a yapper..how would you deal with that?

I agree Cess you have a gift for training. Terri Georgie won't even sit he looks at me like I am crazy lol

Oh he had a big smile until it was the end and it occurred to him that Georgie can't do any of it LOL It was really cute. I told him we could work with Georgie to do more then just bark and boss us around LOL

Its not really my calling I think for me its different to train my own dog than to work with other dogs. Although i have helped train a few owners on how to work with their dogs on the side. I do it mostly as a way to bond with Misa and keep things fun and new for her. If I'm working with her it means she not napping somewhere in the room all day or pawing at me to play all the time. It gets her tired, focused, and her favorite part is theres food involved and lots of attention from me!

AWW Thats the spirit! get that boy a bag of georgics favorite treats and have him work with his favorite dog. hehe. My brother is 4 when i go home to SF with misa i plan on teaching him some of her commands <3 teaches them both patience and reward.

No i am not a dog trainer just a big fan of my dog.

The biggest and what i think is the most important tip when it comes to dog training is to teach your dog to sit, stay. and look (into your eyes), first. nothing else until after those 3 have been mastered. sit teaches them to follow your command, stay gives them patience to listen to what your asking for and makes them confident that no mater how long it takes they will earn that treat in the end, Look teaches them to read you facial expressions to check if they are doing whatever your asking right. The next big tip is to always make it fun, misa and i treat it as a game, if you figure out what im asking you get extra treats and lots of attention and then we get to play.

I have lots of tips but i think those 2 are the most important. It really does take a lot of love, consistency, and food to get your dog where you want it to be

As for yapping. figure out why she's barking first. is it to play? is it to get your attention? is it for food? or potty? or aggression? is it to warn you of someone or something coming? no matter what the reason i would suggest you teach bark as a command and no bark or enough as a 2nd command.
