It might be cute if it was a one time thing and your yorkie thought she was "getting away" with something... then sure cute. Close the lid, don't let it happen again.

But a continual thing... NOT cute. Thee ONLY time my parents every allowed a dog to drink out of a toilet was when they were in a 3 bdrm, 3 bathroom home and only had themselves living there. They gave one bathroom to their black lab that was a XTRA messy drinker and they flushed the toilet twice a day to keep the water fresh and used pet-safe dishsoap in it once a week to clean it. No one was every allowed to use that toilet but the dog. [although that's still gross to me personally.]

My parents are not dog fanatics, and yet they knew it's not okay to let a dog drink from the same toilet you do your business in! annnnd they knew to clean it.

Keep piling on. Go abuse your kids too. Sheesh. I never said they did it all the time. They have three different water feeders in the house and one outside.

But whatever. Shouldn't be surprised here as 80% of this site is negative which is a shame because it could be such a good resource and community instead if a soapbox for negative comments and bashing with no recourse.

Really 80% negative? I dont think so. If thats your opinion why do you post here? Did you really think people who have heard stories of yorkies drowning and dying that way are gonna go oh way to go so cute keep doing it. No one wants to see your dog fall in and die that doesn't seem negative to me it seems like because are trying to keep something bad from happening to your dog. This board gives people support, prayers, help and everything when its need. I have seen many many great things come from this board and many great people!

This is at least the second time that you have accused YT of being overwhelmingly negative but I will have to disagree with you. You were the one that posted a video of your dog drinking from your filthy toilet and then went on to state this is how your big dog drinks on a regular basis. Everyone that posted to your thread has overwhelmingly agree this is unhealthy as well as unsafe for your dogs.

Toilet bowls should NEVER be a source of water for ANY pet! The risk of drowning or infection far outweighs what some deem cute...
