| New to this site and I have a new puppy! Hi my name is Cheryl and I new just purchased an 8 week old yorkie pup. My breeder says the pup is a full breed but I am beginning to wonder. Please see her pics. The mother and father are very light yellow, yet my pup is gold and red with a black nose. She is also a bit bigger weighing 3.4 lbs at 8 weeks. I thought about taking the pup back but before that I am looking for advise. I would love a blond/silver adult with silky hair. This pups hair is silky on her head but sort of cotton like on her back. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated. Thanks |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. She is a cutie but doesn't look like a full yorkie. She could be mixed with a cairn terrier possibly. I would call the breeder and ask to see the parents.

| sassy is prob not purebred from her looks and neither were the parents. mom looks like she may have some silky terrier and dad who knows with the golden coat like that. but she sure is a cutie. are you prepared for such a young puppy at only 8 weeks old? if she's not what you had in mind i would talk to the breeder and try to get my money back on her. the breeder doesn't sound great to me just knowing that she sent a mixed breed 8 week old to you. i would prob. try to take her back and find a more reputable breeder to work with. unless of course you are in love with sassy already and in that case just try to fight for your money back and keep the dog! |

| Thank you for the information everyone. I had my suspicions but I trusted the breeder (her spouse is a local sheriff). Patti I looked up cairn terriers and boy was I surprised how much Sassie and her mother look like that breed. When I went to see the puppy at the breeders home, the parents had been given away to a family member so I only could see pictures. The breeder had many yorkies there and had a younger set of pups not ready to be sold. I just assumed she was being honest. Rachel I laughed out loud with your post tooo funny. Thanks to all for the warm welcome and I think I will give the breeder a call...although I have fallen hard for my little mutt. Thanx |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would call the breeder and tell her your concern and maybe she will refund some of your money since you paid for a purebred. I am glad you have fallen for the little cutie.
